There were no worries about Baylor’s offense entering Wednesday’s game against Central Florida in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Leading the country in points and yards per game, the Bears knew they would have little trouble moving the ball down the field and into the end zone.

Turns out, a little more attention should’ve been paid to the other side of the ball.

Sometime this year, Florida will surpass New York State in population, becoming the nation's third-most populous state, and sun-seeking seniors are not driving the growth.

Census figures released earlier this week showed New York State had just a 98,000-person lead over Florida last July, as both states near having 20 million residents.
