• 1964 to 1975: Vietnam - The United States is heavily involved in the Vietnam War. At the height of the war, around 550,000 American soldiers are deployed.
• 1964 to 1982: Bolivia - The United States is involved in a variety of military coups and counter-revolts.
• April to September 1965: Dominican Republic (Operation Power Pack) - Following the overthrow of left-wing President Juan Bosch and the installation of a US Army-backed military junta, a civil war ensues.
