This weeks topic is trees. Try and find a tree that represents you. And then tell me why you like that particular tree. Any tree you like.
I like this one because of it's strength, full bodied and also because of it's wisdom. It can stand alone but also can mix with others if necessary.
This topic will expire on the 4th May 2018. Enjoy !!!

This is a very old pic, I'll have to go take a newer one someday.
I chose this tree to represent me because it's a favorite memory from when my kids were little.

My parents live on the back 40 of what used to be a 180 acre farm. My dad likes to hunt so they built their house close to the woods where he hunts. One day when my kids were abut 3 & 5, we went for a walk in the woods with my parents, and purposely stumbled upon this tree. In the bottom of the trunk was a large hole and my mom, being the creative that she is, built tiny furniture out of twigs and rocks. There was what looked like a fairy size four-poster bed with a tiny blanket she made sewing a couple fabric scraps together, a little table & chairs made from some rocks she glued together, and a little fire pit like this creature was getting ready to cook it's dinner. Dad told the kids he had seen a leprechaun in the woods when he was hunting, and this must be where it lived. Inside the hole in the tree were two bags of chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil. The kids took the candy, and as we were walking back to the house, we heard a stick snap behind us and the kids thought the leprechaun was following us because they took his gold.

Every time after that the kids had to go out to the leprechaun tree to see what treasures he had there, and every time it was different. From some kind of treat to a little trinket my mom had picked up at a garage sale. One time they went out there and found a Barbie,. My dad told the kids the leprechaun got lonely and took Barbie as his wife. My daughter thought she should rescue Barbie, but after thinking about it she let the leperchaun keep her. She reasoned there probably wasn't to many leprechauns who lived in those woods and he needed somebody to keep him company.

So I think maybe I missed the 2 week mark for the feet topic. I've been busy with work. I've got to go with +Law Wolf 's sandals as the winner. I liked the sense of relaxation his photo implied.

Today I changed +Brenda Hoffman from moderator to co-owner.

First of all, she deserves it (she definitely makes better photos than me, hehe).
Second, as you might have noticed I was not online much last week. I was away to Indonesia for work.
Soon I again will be traveling for work and will have limited access. Personally I think it gives a bad impression if the owner(s) of a community does not participate.
So I felt that Brenda should be co-owner, instead of "mere" moderator, as she is the one that keeps this community going when I am unable to.

And hopefully tomorrow W will be able to go over all that I missed. :)

Dropping this here since we seem to be sharing Lightroom tips! :) I haven't watched it yet, but I will do so as soon as I get home from work.
