Useful overview!

As Google has deprecated Drive Tables for storing data, I am wondering where schools and businesses are with regards to storing sensitive information in Cloud SQL?
Does anybody have any idea with regard to the legal implications?
Google Cloud Platform and G Suite for Education have much different Terms of Service and App Maker is not yet a G Suite Core Service.
As the GDPR has just dropped over here in the UK, what guarantees are there that my data, both PII and HIPAA are safe from prying eyes with 3rd party data processors?
I would be very careful for educators to not start any ambitious plans for projects just yet until this is clarified.

I am looking into the possibilities to extract and update spreadsheets in a simple and convenient little app.. i am by no means a good programmer so tips will be appreciated!

Look what service just arrived in the adminconsole!

For our school I want to make an app that can be used when children are arriving/leaving in the morning/evening.
Currently we have custom build a WEB-App that is triggered with QR-code badges. When the QR-code is scanned with a smart device an entry in made in a Google sheet. Later that day the entry in processed towards our billing system with triggerd standalone GAS script.

Now I want to get rid of those QR-codes and make an app with "APP-Maker". I want to press a button (in the APP) instead of scanning the QR-Code.

Some questions that pop's up
Do I need a DB?
How do I list, and from what source, the students?
How do I call an URL to register an entry in a Google Sheet?

Kind Regards

I wanted to give a huge shoutout to Ben Hommerding one of the trainers at He is featured in the App Maker Release article below.

Share your wishes!

My first wish is to make an application to bundle tasks. Now the tasks are individual, but it would be great if it's possible to set tasks for the team, subteam, management, etc., to view the progress centrally and let the collegues mark them as done in the way they also manage their own tasks.

I tried if it's possible to make our teammembers student and teacher in the same course of Google Classroom, but unfortunately that's not possible. So maybe App Maker can bridge this gap.

But to manage expectations: First I want to finish another coding project and do another one before I can make time for this project...
