How often should I visit Eagle Transmission to have my vehicle checked?
Check your vehicle manual. Your manufacturer has stated how often you should visit a transmission shop. For most new vehicles, transmission fluid must be changed ever 100,000 miles, and 30,000 miles after. However, schedule changes if you use your vehicle for towing, because that will require you to replenish your fluid earlier than expected. Additionally, you must also go to Eagle Transmission for normal check-ups in order for us to see if you have missed some leakage or if the filter is already damaged.

What is being done when my transmission is checked and scanned?
During transmission diagnostic, your vehicle will be connected to our system to thoroughly clarify the cause of the problem. Additionally, a physical checkup will also be done by our transmission experts to come up with a conclusive report whether your vehicle needs to be repaired. Diagnostics can be done even if you think your vehicle is perfectly fine.

Is it better to have my transmission rebuilt or replaced?
Most often, we prefer to have a transmission rebuilt because you are guaranteed that all parts are original. Sometimes, when a transmission has been replaced, your vehicle will have to undergo further tested because one way or another, it could break down because the new one does not match the entire engine.

My check engine light is on. Do you think it’s a transmission problem?
A “check engine” light could mean a lot of engine problems. It does not immediately mean that your transmission is failing. However, you have to immediately bring your vehicle to Eagle Transmission to thoroughly assess what the problem is. Never drive your car when the light is on because you will be susceptible to road accidents. If your “check engine” light is on, call us so that we can tow your car. Our diagnostic is free, so you surely have nothing to worry about!

Is a transmission cooler necessary?
If you use your vehicle for towing or for loading heavy equipment, or if you own a public vehicle, a transmission cooler will help your vehicle’s transmission. However, if it is just for personal use, it is not too important, but we can still install it for you.

How will I figure out if my transmission is slipping?
Transmission slipping is the most common problem that one has to face, but it can be easily repaired. You’ll notice that your transmission is slipping if you cannot immediately change gear or if it flares or slips, then you’ve got a problem.

My transmission fluid looks pink. Is this still okay?
That depends. If it is light clear pink, it’s perfectly fine. There are some ATF that look that way, especially if you have just recently had it changed. However, if it is foamy, there’s something wrong. One common problem is your radiator. The coolant was mixed on your ATF, therefore, it has to be flushed immediately and have your radiator replaced or repaired (depending on the severity of the condition).
