Hello members! Please familiarize yourselves with the community rules.

Post in an appropriate category. This community is divided into categories so that folks with particular interests can skip right to the posts they want to see. Please choose the most appropriate category for your post. Not everything belongs in General Discussion. Gardening Questions is for people with actual questions, not for folks who think they're answering an unasked question. Only Moderators should use Read This First.

Always include plant names when posting photos unless you're posting in Gardening Questions to ask what plant you've shot. We're here to talk about gardening, not just to look at pretty pictures. Posting the plant name is the absolute minimum information you should give when posting plant photos.

Include a text introduction when posting a video, blog, or other outside link. This is a new rule, but one that has become necessary with the growing number of people posting videos and links to the community. This is vital even if you have a photo with text as that text can't be translated like plain text for folks who read other languages or visually impaired members who rely on screen readers. Do not post links to other communities on G+, Facebook, etc to draw our members away.

No advertising. This is not a place to advertise your landscaping or other garden-related business. Violators will be banned. Posts that are related to gardening but link to pages that are obviously promotional in nature will also be deleted. Posts that include Amazon or other referral links directly in the community will also be deleted.

All new members' posts will be held for approval by moderators. This is to reduce the amount of spam in the group. Do not post the same post multiple times. Your posts need to be reviewed by a human before they will be released to the group. Once we see that you are posting on topic and following the rules, you may be promoted to automatic approval.

This is not a dating group. This should not need to be said, but I've seen some pretty inappropriate comments lately. Of course friendships may form through our mutual love of gardening. How about letting that happen naturally and keeping the bad pick up lines to yourselves?

Don't block community owners/moderators.

This list will be amended as necessary.
