I think that it's a disgusting tragedy that Mansfield Dam isn't a field trip destination for kids. It better tells an important part of our history: of the Colorado River, of the environment, of the science of energy production and water conservation, engineering, endangered species and our ecology, and more, in a living experience far richer than pictures in a museum. Or rather, it should. It could.

So here's the deal, I've taken a couple hours to write up much of what our kids should learn. Not everything of course, but a rich part of what it means to live near Mansfield Dam. More than that, I've opened a petition to ask our State and Local leaders to put thought to transforming Mansfield Dam into a science center, museum, or educational experience - https://www.change.org/petitions/lower-colorado-river-authority-open-mansfield-dam-education-destination-heritage-history-and-revenue
