"Thriller is a wonderful pop record, the latest statement by one of the great singers in popular music today. I believe this album helped breach the destructive barriers that spring up regularly between white and black music." - - John Rockwell

"The pulse of America and much of the rest of the world moves irregularly, beating in time to the tough strut of 'Billie Jean', the asphalt aria of 'Beat It', the supremely cool chills of 'Thriller'." - Time

"It was a record for the times, brimming with breathless anticipation and a dread fear of the adult world, a brilliant fantasy that pumped with sexual heat, yet made room for serious reflection." - Toronto Star

Thriller was released on November 30, 1982, by Epic Records. In just over a year, it becameβ€”and currently remainsβ€”the world's best-selling album, with estimated sales surpassing 65 million copies.

It is the best-selling album in the United States and the first album to be certified 32x multi-platinum, having shipped 32 million album-equivalent units. The album won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year.

In terms of commercial impact to social import and strictly musical merit, Thriller was placed at number 1 on the list, where it was referred to as Michael Jackson's "master work".

"Dangerous fulfilled Jackson's creative ambitions and was at once his most socially conscious record, his most personally revealing, and a dazzling musical odyssey, the work of an artist engaging with the world around him-and inside him-as never before.

The R&B/New jack swing album's music was more groundbreaking than any other pop record of the time. If indeed it is considered a pop album, Dangerous redefined the parameters of pop.

How else to explain an album that mixes R&B, funk, gospel, hip-hop, rock, industrial, and classical; an album that introduces one song ('Will You Be There') with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and another ('Dangerous') with what sounds like the heart of a steel-city factory; an album that can alternately be paranoid, cryptic, sensual, vulnerable, idealistic, bleak, transcendent, and fearful?"

-Joseph Vogel in "Man In The Music: The Creative Life and Work of Michael Jackson"

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die the world cries and you rejoice."

The quote is a native American proverb. The picture is made from me. I hope you like it.

Rest In Peace Michael Jackson. You truly lived that way.

The editing is a bit weak, but I did this video in a hurry. Forgive me about that. Happy Halloween.
