So there I was flicking around the Amazon "instant streaming video" section to see what movie I passed up seeing in the theaters would I now be interested in paying $3.99 to see streaming on the TV, when BAMM! The icy snowball from the screen hits me between the eyes. What the?

A Christmas Story 2 ???   What the Fudge?

Sure enough I think we are now in the throws of being deluged with the variations on the master theme. The radio snippet ... begot the book chapters ... begot the movie .. begot the TNT marathon .. begot the merchandizing [leg lamps, bobble heads, Christmas lights, bunny PJs etc.] ... begot the Broadway musical ... and now the sequel.

Variations to come ... a prequel .. the all women cast variation ... the urban variation ... the biblical times variation (substitute BB gun with sling shot, Farkus with Goliath, [I'm not touching The Old Man idea here]), ... the rock version (or Zombie or Vampire) .. the animated version ... the 3D Pixar version ...the Charlie Brown version ... the theme park ride .. the theme park and so it goes.

Critic:
"Shamelessly derivative and plasticized, A Christmas Story 2 will only have you wondering why you're not watching the original picture again."

Looks like something to pass up, at least until it's free.

Oi !!
