Spotfire: Full blown analytics and visualization environment with both end-user and analyst functionality. Spotfire from Tibco provides an easy to use interface for data  visualisation, analytics and the creation of dashboards. Most of the  slicing and dicing can be done through drag and drop and a multitude of  intelligent functions (eg scaling the time axis on charts automatically)  make light work of many analysis tasks. The lightening fast execution  speeds are also a great advantage, particularly on large data sets.

QlikView: The company talks of maintaining associations between data, and this facilitates a much more flexible approach to data exploration and visualization. In practice what this means is that users can search available data resources with the knowledge that any relevant items will be retrieved, no matter how disjoint the origins of the various data items.

Microsoft: Microsoft BI platform provides excellent price-performance ratio and works  good as a backend for data visualization (with release of SQL Server) or for people who  wish to build own front-end data visualization.

Tableau: Tableau places great emphasis on the ability to create visualizations  without the need for any technical skills (scripting). Provided Tableau  always offers what you need this is fine, the moment you want something  different this could be problematical.
