So for the past couple months i have been reading and learning on what i can work with to make a cnc router/mill of my own. Originally i had planned on using an Arduino Uno R3 with the cnc shield, but to my knowledge i wouldnt be able to push nema 23 motors with it. My solution was this kit which has 3 nema 23 motors, the power supply i needed, and a 3 axis motor controller board based on the tb6560 arduino motor driverhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CRDGD9U/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Issue is that once i plug in the parallel cable and turn on the power supply, the motors will lock up, whine, and will not respond to the g code file i load into mach3 and basically will not work at all. The solution to that issue is to follow the steps of this videohttps://youtu.be/BZH1WkgfOug
And do it in a way that i can find more support on. The questions i have for the community are:
1: is this easier to work with than the driver board i already ordered?
2: can i flash GRBL on the arduino board and have everything run like it should or will i have to find some kind if work around?
3: i eventually plan on adding a 4th and 5th axis after ive become comfortable with it and learn more. Could i eventually work around to having a 5th axis or would it be easier to just get a breakout board?
