Since G Plus will eventually expire, you might be interested in the Black Armada page over on Facebook. I know, I know, Facebook is awful. Still, if you're on there you might as well hear about awesome indie game stuff, eh?

+Becky Annison and +Joshua Fox, maybe you’ll be glad to know that the Italian edition of Lovecraftesque has been just announced as the winner of the Italian Role-playing Game of the Year and will be awarded at the Lucca Comics & Games 2018 fair, next November.

Congratulations and hurrah for Lovecraftesque!

There's less than 48 hours left on the Flotsam: Adrift Amongst the Stars Kickstarter. It's already funded, with nearly 600 backers and stretch goals by Emily Care Boss and Grant Howitt already in the bag. We've just this morning unlocked a great new scenario by +Mo Holkar and we're on our way to a great new scenario by Helen Gould!

In case you missed it: it's a game where you play outcasts, misfits and renegades living in the belly of a space station, in the shadow of a more prosperous society. You play through their everyday lives, their interpersonal relationships and small-scale drama against the epic backdrop of space.

Imagine the Belters of the Expanse watching as Earth and Mars shape their lives, the civilians in Battlestar Galactica living with the decisions made by the military and the folk of Downbelow in Babylon 5, abandoned to destitution and squalor by those who built the station. This game is about characters like that.

If you're on the fence, feel free to ask a question here!

I’m excited to announce that Flotsam: Adrift Amongst the Stars is now live on Kickstarter! Thankyou for all the support and encouragement you’ve given to the project so far.

Flotsam is a roleplaying game about outcasts, renegades and misfits living in belly of a space station, in the shadow of a more prosperous society. You play through their everyday lives, interpersonal relationships and small-scale drama in the Below, a dangerous world where poverty, social strife and gang conflict sit side-by-side with alien technology and supernatural weirdness.

The game is GMless and diceless, with rules that point your characters at each other and bring their relationships into sharp focus. They help you create a rich setting, flawed characters, and charged relationships which develop over time. You'll watch your characters evolve and change before your eyes. It's really cool.

_"Josh has put together something really interesting here - there's glimpses of a larger setting through the world, but it only comes out through the lenses of the characters. Very clever stuff." _
- Grant Howitt, co-designer of The Spire RPG

You can get Flotsam for as little as £9 / $12 for the PDF.

For those who might want to chime in there's a discussion about Lovecraftesque going on over at RPG.net. I've tried offering some suggestions, but since I've only played it once, don't feel like I'm helping much.

Really looking forward to Bite Me, as I'm a big fan of Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega and Mercy Thompson!

Conditions to play a Special Card

VICTIMS
You may play this after a scene which included an injured and/or dead person, without a clear explanation for how the injury/death happened.

Being this a bladant violation of the creeping horror, unless the cards A HOSTILE GROUP (from Part 1), INHUMAN CREATURE (from Part 2), A BIZZARERIE (from Part 2), REPRISALS (from Part 1), are already on the table, am I supposed to hold the card until another card allows me to play the VICTIMS?

Special Cards with ongoing effects

I have a question about when a player can play a Special Card with an ongoing effect and an activation of the type: “You may play this after a scene that/which/if/where…”

When the card says “after a scene”, does it mean first you have to introduce the “propedeutic” element in a scene and then to play the Special Card in a different scene? It couldn’t be the same scene, right?

Hi Joshua, I'm in trouble translating a couple verses in Lovecraftesque Poetry, maybe I'm missing some reference.

From "The Piscean Problem"

I walked “Leviathan’s” long “tail”
Supposèd pinned by Bride’s travail;

Would you be so kind to clarify the meaning for me, or give contest/references?

Thanks in advance
