Be sympathetic

Is the world really divided into Droids and Apples?
No, we are all human beings, admittedly with different preferences.

I hope this post of an iOS user just makes you laugh.

I hope members of this community are all open-minded. Just give me a short note in the comment section if you hate my profile picture and want me to leave this place.

Thanks for your comment +Abdulrahman Hassan

You are right but Google+, Twitter, Facebook, and others changed our lives and the way we communicate with each other, especially in communities dedicated to the brands Google/Samsung and Apple.

Sad to say that this often goes along with untruths, aggressiveness, ignorance, insolence, and other mental deficits.

A phone or a tablet might not seem to be something worth fighting over, but what it stands for most definitely is.

A fanboy immediately turns into a hostage. Hostages have no choice but to buy certain products.

They are far less likely to care if one device is better than another. It’s the choosing one thing over another which leads to narratives about why you did it. If you have to rationalize why you bought a luxury item, you will probably find ways to see how it fits in with your self-image.

To combat postdecisional dissonance, the feeling you have committed to one option when the other option may have been better, you make yourself feel justified in what you selected to lower the anxiety brought on by questioning yourself.

All of this forms a giant neurological cluster of associations, emotions, details of self-image and biases around the things you own.

This is why all over the Internet there are people in word fights over video games and sports teams, cell phones and TV shows. The Internet provides a fertile breeding ground for this sort of behavior to flourish.

The imagination
You prefer the things you own over the things you don’t because you made rational choices when you bought them.

The reality
You prefer the things you own because you rationalize your past choices to protect your sense of self.

"imploding" is maybe a too strong word, but what's your opinion why samsung is loosing ground? is it just the price of their devices?

Operating profit in the company’s IT & Mobile unit was KRW2.76 trillion ($2.35 billion), down 37.6 per cent year-on-year, on revenue of KRW26.06 trillion, down 8.4 per cent. Mobile sales make up 98 per cent of the division’s total.

+Terry Poulin great to hear that you're also odroid fan, i have a u3 and wanted to do kinect / open ni on it, but it was too complicated for me at that time. with the raspberry pi 2 i'm diving deeper into arm/linux also coming from arduino. would be interesting to see how the u3 performs against the pi 2, for sure u3 is faster but how much?

Which of these two would you actually buy?
The OnePlus Two is a decent phone, but it's no flagship killer. That title goes to the Moto X Style without any doubt.

Google didn't create the Nexus 6 and project FI to have it only work on Sprint and T-mobile. The Nexus 6 has universal LTE bands for a reason. AT&T and Verizon will eventually join project Fi because they wont have a choice because the mobile market is changing. Sony and Samsung were both hesitant to join android. Nokia decided against joining Android now look at them. They are releasing android products. Moto cut out the carriers. Android started out with One OEM and one phone. Then another one joined. When Android was launched Nokia was still the mobile King. It took a team effort to take Nokia down. Google launches platform then search for partners. Maybe it will take 2-3 years but eventually AT&T and Verizon will allow project FI to be use on their network. When this happens then the playing field will be leveled. The carriers will embrace and use the project FI technology because in reality why do their care which service the person is using as long the person has a plan with them. A streaming service dont care which service you use. WIFI is becoming prevalent so people dont care too much about mobile service anyways. Verizon coverage advantage is gone. AT&T exclusive is over because people can buy any phone they want. The mobile market changes very quickly. You can thank T-mobile for pushing the unCarrier message and Google for pushing unlock phones to the people. People will eventually wake up.

New flaw can render most Android phones unresponsive and useless.

Wow, Android really is the new Windows.

http://zd.net/1DbJ9RH
The vulnerability affects more than half of all Android devices, say researchers.

Yeah probs ios, or windows phone. Probably more ios as its very stable and easy to use for anyone. Plenty of free apps and regular updates for both apps and the os. Android is great but definitely requires more work and isnt always the easiest to pick up for beginners.
