Hey +Ross Cowman, I've heard tell that Fall of Magic is sold out. Do you have any details on when the scroll edition will next be available?

We ran Fall of Magic as part of our Story Games Glendale (Los Angeles) meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Story-Games-Glendale/).

A question for y'all who've played: We sometimes feel the struggle with a bit of floundering for story in the beginning. Everyone's feeling out their character, how they relate to each other, and what the whole thing is about, and if feels sometimes like you need a good 2 hours to get into the groove, and unfortunately for some short plays this means a lot of setup time. We had a little post-discussion about this last night.

Does anyone do any talk beforehand when they've played this game, and if so, how did that effect things. For example, has anyone tried making some simple bonds between any players ahead of time (childhood friends; master and servant; a legendary name I've heard in stories, etc.) or has anyone discussed what their character thinks coming into the game regarding the fall of magic, or the magus. We've mostly explored it IN play, but anyone do it prior to starting scenes at Ravenhall? What's been your experience if so?

I have just learned about this game at Total Con last weekend, and I will be picking up my copy at a local store in the next couple days. I really love this game.

I've got some news.

I haven't told anyone this to anyone outside of a few collaborators. I thought I'd share it with the dedicated fans at the Fall of Magic G+ group first.

A few months ago I woke up in the middle of the night with two realizations.

–Fall of Magic is the first in a cycle of four games, each based around one of the seasons.

–The intro to the second game.

"The Umbra spread across the land, so our family fled, to the City of Winter."

Feel free to ask me questions. I might not know the answers!

We just hired an additional artist to help meet the unexpected demand for the fox case! 36 hours left if you'd like to get one of these for your copy of Fall of Magic.

Tomorrow night we'll be running a session of Fall of Magic via Roll20 at 9pm EST. We're looking for 1 or 2 more players for a brisk 2 hour game.

This is an idea I had for incorporating a bit of random resolution into the story. I used the resolution cards from Itras By as a starting point, and tried to make the process as quick and streamlined as I could. The goal is to offer a way to resolve conflict with the die, while adding in more interesting details to keep the story going forward. The choices should be interesting, but with a breadth of interpretation to let players retain as much final say over their own characters as possible.

The layout of the document is such that you can print it double-sided on a single sheet of paper and then cut along the line in the middle to make a page that can be placed into the existing rulebook.

What do you think?
