Hi Guys,

Two questions.

1. After the recent policy changes, are still allowed to load Chrome Apps locally, say for enterprise users, without publishing to Chrome Web Store?

2. If a product uses Oracle on the server, can we write a chrome app to store data locally using Chrome technologies, and send it to Oracle server for syncing when online?

Note: I am not a developer, asking these so that I can make a case for Chrome App, in place of a .NET windows app that they are planning

Has anyone tried to use Chrome's bluetooth APIs? I'm having trouble with connecting; getting errors like "Invalid UUID" and "Permission Denied"

I'm building a Chrome App with Polymer and I want it to work offline. The problem is that the font-roboto package refers to Google's online font URL, meaning it won't be able to load offline. Is there a way to bundle roboto with my Chrome App?

Does anyone else think it is near inexcusable that Chrome Apps are not supported by Polymer Paper?

Hi guys. I'm looking for someone who can program Chorme Extensions.

I upload many Youtube Videos. In the video manager I schedule each video. The problem/user story is: The overview of planned videos is very bad. I'm looking for a calender overview.

My idea is an Chrome extension. If I as a user go to my Upload list, I can click to a new link to see the uploaded videos in a kind of calender view. Released and planned videos.

In my opinion, the Yotube API don't give the information about planned videos, also the only place with information about planned videos is the upload list (string/regex work).

Who can help?

In my opinion, this is an automatic process. The Chrome Extension runs over the upload page and read data/time from the videos and sort this in a kind of calendar view.

Does anyone else attempt to clone from bitbucket using CDE (aka Chrome Dev Editor aka Spark) and it doesn't work? I receive "git.invalid_repo_url" exception. When I attempt to clone spark using the default URL in the url field, it says private repo. Does the git clone feature work yet? I recall a mention of github but I presume the CDE git functionality is not limited to github? Thanks

I had the same issue with BitBucket so perhaps it's just not supported yet. Hopefully it will be fixed sometime soon.

I am working on using Chrome Dev Editor. I am not really sure what I am doing wrong in getting jquery to be included in the bower.json. All docs I have seen talk about calling bower install from the command line or to just include in the dependencies section in the bower.json something like:
"jquery": "~1.8.3"

That has no affect that I can see (no new folder in bower_components or error messages).

If I change this to:
"jquery": "jquery/jquery"

Then I get the jquery folder in the components with the entirety of the jquery git branch. But, no jquery.min.js to actually use.

What am I doing wrong?

We added lots features to our app and moved it out of beta last week. However, the result is very disappointing. Our apps can no longer be discovered in the Chrome Web Store featured lists (For your desktop, Teacher & Admin Tools, Games Puzzle & Brain ... where they were in before). Impressions drops 10X overnight. Here is what I think probably happened: we added a new feature of youtube video playback in our app which requires the webview permission.

Hi to all who develop on the Chrome platform

Let me introduce my first Chrome project

Look At My Chrome Apps  --> https://github.com/jmfayard/look-at-my-chrome-apps

Motivation

You guys are doing awesome apps, extensions and themes. Now the question is how do more users learn about them. We already have the webstore of course, which is good for discovering one extension, app or theme, or for people who knows Chrome pretty well. But for introducing new people to the wonders of the Chrome eco-system, we lack a more efficient sharing tool.

That is what this project aims to do : allow users to trivially create and share lists of their favorite Chrome Apps, Extensions, Themes.

Current state

I started this project one month ago, did the main UX, but noch much else more since I am a novice Chrome developer.

Yersterday, I found about this wonderful Balsamic Mockups tool, and I thought it would be great to use it to
- share my ideas as soon as possible
- get honest feedback (both positive and negative)
- see if maybe someone would want to fork it and help me making it a reality

This project is open-source by the way, did I say it already :P ?

i created new repo on the site.. pulled it down fine.. added some files.. did the whole commit but not finding the changes back home..

doesn't even show the commit at the master..

when i do push to origin it doesn't accept my username/password..

not sure what i'm doing wrong.. i've been googling for hour now and not finding anything..  I know it is a developer preview but thought it best to ask..

Mailing list / rss feed to stay updated on chrome.* api changes

Is there a mailing list, or an rss feed, that I can subscribe to, to stay updated about changes to chrome.* APIs.

I'm looking at all possible changes - APIs moving to stable, being deprecated, usage changes, etc - to stay on top of all the changes so apps & extensions don't break (and I can add new features when available).

Would be really helpful if anyone can share any.

Cheers!

Adi

Thanks +Joshua Franta!
I'm already subscribed to both chromium extensions and apps list. However, neither is directly useful for staying updated on API changes. None of the others seem directly applicable either.

Anything else?

Hello Chromies,

Isn't it a common practice to have at least 15 tabs open in your chrome browser when you are building some awesome stuff?

Well, the problem with that is, we spend too much time searching for the right tab. To alleviate this problem, i have developed a chrome extension that looks very similar to what popular code editors provide for tab navigation. You can switch to any tab (in any window, even incognito) by using the default keyboard shortcut, Alt + P in less than 2 seconds.

Meet Tab Hero. Save the precious time and put it to good use with this extension installed.

I found this on the internet. A very easy way to save time, and increase productivity. It's free, but only avaible for google chrome. Here you can download it: goo.gl/oIIHkt

The source of the picture is the developers website ( http://nickw.de/myTab/images/ ).

Does Google currently have a 'recommended' CRM (Customer Relationship Management system) app that integrates straight into other Google apps, such as Contacts and even Maps.  We Google contacts along with our GMail and use Google Maps Engine to visualise our clients and their data, would love to link all of these.  Is Google that open source that our web developers would be able to work with API's to do this?

After several years in the in the Food & Beverage Industry I decided to turn my technology tinkering into a career choice. I have been making small websites for several years, but have just recently attained a Bachelor's degree in Information technology just before publishing my first packaged app. Although I am eagerly looking for a career position at the moment, I am more interested in connecting with and learning from other like-minded individuals.
