Attack of the May Photo Challenge!

The month of May kicks off the summer season of movies in Hollywood and around the world! This summer should be an entertaining one with new installments of Guardians of the Galaxy, Pirates of the Carribean, WonderWoman, The Mummy, Cars, The Transformers, Despicable Me, Spider-man, Planet of the Apes, and Aliens just to name a few...

Our love for movies often inspires our ToyPhotography, I know it does mine! from Fantasy to Sci-Fi and Superheroes to Horror my toy-world tends to revolve around movies! That being said it is the Toy Photographers Community's pleasure to announce that we are teaming up with G+ for May's Photography Challenge!

Objective: The Summer Blockbuster Movie Series is intended to showcase the creativity of the toy photography community on Google+.

Execution: Participating photographers choose a notable summer blockbuster movie __(past or present)_ that interests them and work your magic! We don’t want to place any creative restrictions on the photographers other than applying __the theme of summer blockbuster movies.

__Additionally, accompanying the photographs with written explanations of why you chose a certain film, interesting details about the process of shooting toy photography, or any additional context would be ideal.

G+ had asked that we tag all our photos #TinyToysBigScreen*!*

About the hashtag, if you want to enter our photo challenge make sure to use the tag and post the entry in our community. If you have additional photos you just want to use the tag with, you can put them on your own G+ timelines. Our contest is judged on entries in the community, but G+ will be looking at the tag as a whole. Hope that helps! (Thanks +aliceincleveland)

You have the details... Now it's time to go to work! Let's show G+ what Toy Photography is all about! The talent here deserves its day in the sun!

_Please limit yourself to three (3) posts for this challenge.

Deadline to enter 05-31-2017

The MOCer in me kicked in once again and... there it is: the space kart is finally real! Undoubtedly, the first inspiration came from Mario Kart, as you can see. I wanted to build something ridiculously badass. And I’m very happy with the result, even because it gave a hard time during the design.
The engine of this baby is so powerful that Mr. Robot has to wear special goggles to drive it!
Eat my dust, Mario!
I've never imagined that I would have built something starting from a hashtag found on Instagram...

Hi all! As my first post here in this community I’d like to share a project I created for the Lego BMW “Build to the future” Rebrick contest. The aim was to create a futuristic BMW motorcycle while trying to match the style and colors of the brand. I did not try to add too much Technic functionality to the bike, I was rather focusing on the look and the overall presentation/photos. My submission entry was the following:

In the late 21th century only autonomous connected vehicles are allowed on public roads. Motorcycle enthusiasts can compete on closed tracks. The BMW WR 1000 is one of the finest examples of the specialized two wheelers built with a sole purpose – speed. Continuing the legacy of the world speed record breaker WR 750, this 1,000-HP all-electric motorcycle is the king of the tracks. It has two wheel hub motors powered by a quick-swap battery pack, enclosed in a lightweight carbon fiber tube frame.

I definitely wanted to create a “tube frame” to support the different parts, luckily the different axles and connectors were flexible enough to create a 3d shape. I managed to hide the wires for the front and back lights, and to make the battery pack easily removable secured only by a single pin. I also wanted to create a proportional driver, so he was born of some Bionicle parts. The solar charging station was an additional idea at the end when I was taking the photos. Color stripes were created using electrical tape, and the creation of the first "action shoot" was a nice challenge too (there was no Photoshop trickery :) )

You can see below the entry photos, and you can find more if you're interested in my blog post on http://racingbrick.com
