Matt Kline is pissed about Yasiel Puig making the Final Vote for the MLB All-Star Game. Hell, he's pissed about the final vote itself.

I think every fan vote is deplorable, in every sport. BUT ESPECIALLY IN A SPORT WHERE THE ALL-STAR GAME MEANS SOMETHING.

I'm with Matt on that, but I don't really care if Puig makes the NL Roster. IF the guy stays scorching hot, wouldn't you want that guy at bat for you if potential World Series home field advantage was on the line?

I would.

The Horton Hears a Who jokes are flying through my head, but all I can concentrate on is how scary it would be to have Ray Horton read Dr. Suess books to me.

On Manti Te'o -- Notre Dame as a university should have never responded, and should have never acknowledged they knew about this situation when they did. It provides no benefit to the university to even acknowledge the story at this point.

In its ill-timed response, Notre Dame should have protected itself and distanced itself from an athlete that has already declared for the draft. Yes, he was a player there, but at this point this is all collateral damage and doesn't impact the school or its athletic programs.

For those who are wondering, no there is no NCAA violation for a university sitting on information like this. They are under no requirement to report anything to anyone, especially the media.

Personally, I couldn't care less what these dudes do when they aren't playing sports as long as it doesn't have an impact on me. If this kid is a serial liar, then he's as bad as every coach who lies to recruits. If he's a victim of some hoax then he's a victim like millions of others who a victims of fraud every year in the United State.

All that said, imagine if he had won the Heisman?

It shouldn't. There are plenty of liars in the NFL who are great at their jobs. No one says people have to be honest to do their jobs well.

If you're interested in shouting out story ideas to our (seemingly on) crack staff, use the story ideas category and let your ideas fly.

We think that it will be fun to use our readers' ideas as a way to interact with everyone, and that it will be a challenge for us to think and write about some things that we may not have done otherwise.

Wouldn't be the first utility company to sponsor a sports venue, nor even the first to be sponsored by First Energy.  What I don't get is how does such sponsorship benefit the utility company?  Does advertisement really benefit them at all, or should they stick to what they do and lower our bills?

Oh. That's what I thought you meant. First Energy isn't advertising for people to use their utilities on the stadium, they're advertising to other companies. The holdings company paid for the naming rights, not any of the local utility divisions.

Obviously, none of us know all the details, but it's disingenuous for the Steelers to release this dude after allegations and not do anything close to that for Roethlisberger.

No, they don't have to be consistent, but they could fake it, right?

As a person who doesn't care much about individual awards such as All-Star games or Halls of Fame it's interesting that the baseball writers were unable to elect anyone yesterday. I know they think they're protecting the integrity of the hall, but other than those who were to have allegedly taken PEDs they couldn't have elected anyone?

Like I said, I don't care much, but it's just interesting they didn't elect one person.

My issue isn't that no one made it, it's that no one made it because the voters were protecting the integrity of the institution.

Integrity. Ty Cobb's racism, Babe Ruth's womanizing, speed in every clubhouse... It's a museum. Museums are for history. Let the history speak for itself.

Kyle put together a good read on +More Than A Fan about passing your favorite teams onto your children.

When I'm a parent, I'm certainly going to put my kids in Cleveland stuff. I'll raise them to be #Indians   #Cavs  and #Browns  fans.

If they choose to change when they get older, I'm cool with that. But my kids will always know what it's like to be proud of the teams that dad loves, even if they are also proud of their own teams.

LeBron James is the youngest player to 20,000 points, but he's not the FASTEST to 20,000 points.

Which is more impressive? Which is more important? Or does it not matter because he's the best player on the planet?

Here's my quick take on Chip Kelly and the Eagles: As much as I'd like to blame Chip Kelly, the Eagles are the real enables here. They allowed Chip Kelly to crap all over the Eagles, the Cleveland Browns, and everyone associated with Oregon and then still left the door open for him to take a job in Philadelphia.

Not only is Chip Kelly possibly the worst employee ever, he is now in my opinion the worst, the most scandalous,  money hungry, and dishonest person associated with college sports of all time. John Calipari used to be #1, but Chip Kelly has firmly ascended to throne.

Cleveland, you are better without that scum leading your football team, because I honestly don't believe he'll be in the NFL in two years when a program like USC, Texas, or Virginia Tech come calling his name.

More to come...

Haslam and Banner are likely giving each other high-fives since they don't have to deal with this cancer. I'm not opposed to Kelly returning to football, but his departure what especially bad. He actually makes it look like Saban gave standard two-weeks notice. That's how bad this is.

This is the best thing to happen to the Browns since 1999.

Alabama will have to replace running back Eddie Lacy, defensive back Dee Milliner and offensive tackle D.J. Fluker as each declared for the NFL. With these losses is Alabama still considered the #1 team going into the 2013 college football season?
