From +James Walls

Lawful Good Gaming is excited to be hosting an open role-playing game night at Norwin Public Library on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm in support of the Trevor Project. Role-playing games (also known as RPG's) are storytelling experiences where players take on personas and take part in telling a collaborative tale, coordinated by someone running the event: the game master. Some examples of role-playing games include Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Dungeon Crawl Classics and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire.

There is no experience necessary to join in this event, and all rules, dice, and even a trio (or more!) of experienced game masters will be on site to help coordinate our event in support the Trevor Project.

"Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24."

Lawful Good Gaming is a community that coordinates, hosts, and participates in tabletop gaming events (both online and in person) to help raise money for various charities, non-profit organizations, and causes. For this current season we are focusing our fundraising efforts to promote equality and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.

There is no charge for this event, however we are encouraging all participants to consider making a donation to the Trevor Project. For more information about the Trevor Project you can find them here: www.thetrevorproject.org

Happy Monday Lawful Good Gamers! We've had a few questions about events for the month, but nothing posted yet. If there is anything we can do to help you facilitate an event either online or in your home town, let us know!

New Game

Silence is overrated. Come play The Quiet Year & proclaim loudly your support for The Trevor Project!

The Quiet Year:
For a long time, we were at war with The Jackals. But now, we’ve driven them off, and we have this – a year of relative peace. One quiet year, with which to build our community up and learn once again how to work together. Come Winter, the Frost Shepherds will arrive and we might not survive beyond that. But we don’t know about that yet. What we know is that right now, in this moment, there is an opportunity to build something. https://buriedwithoutceremony.com/the-quiet-year

The Trevor Project: Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. https://www.thetrevorproject.org/

There are Four (4) open seats at this event and seats are first come first served by donating any amount to The Trevor Project! Post a screenshot of your donation into the event to secure a seat. Anyone who wishes to donate but is unable to play, or just wants to contribute and watch, non-seat donations will be turned into in-game Abundances or Scarcities that will have an effect in play. If you are interested in donating, promoting, or matching donations please let me know.

We are absolutely THRILLED to announce that LAWFUL GOOD GAMING: SEASON 3 will be kicking off on January 1, 2018! For this new season we will be focusing our fundraising efforts to promote equality and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. For this awesome season we will be supporting the following organizations:

TREVOR PROJECT: "Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24." www.thetrevorproject.org

HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN: "The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community." www.hrc.org

SAGE: "... the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults... SAGE leads in addressing issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) aging." www.sageusa.org

We're going to continue our VERY successful campaign of coordinating, hosting, and running role-playing games and other tabletop gaming events, both online and in-person, to generate donations for these wonderful organizations.

As we shift seasons, we’d love to hear from more knowledgeable voices on these topics, and invite you to consider joining the Lawful Good Gaming Leadership Committee. We're always looking to have a broader range of opinions and experiences to help us improve our organization and events! If you are interested in joining please PM me.

In addition, if you have any questions, please feel free to comment below or PM me directly and I'll be happy to assist you.

So let's get this started! Please spread the word about our organization, sign up to run events, and join in the fun!

Any chance that this page will see regular updates again at some point? I hear there's a new round of games scheduled. Thanks.

Had an amazing game of Predation the other night led by +Darcy Ross. The adventure was fun, the player chemistry felt like we had played together for years and not minutes, and the mechanic of playing two characters (yours and another player’s dinosaur) meant that no one sat long without something to do. Hopefully I can use some of that magic for a game I am running tonight.

Thank you amazing players! Another wild session of Vurt: The Tabletop Role-Playing Game. These folks always keep me on my toes and make gaming so much fun. They fought rabid RoboDogs in the streets of Manchester, got chased by a Corporate Security Mech and took the infamous "MSF3K Black Feather", traveling to the Vurt World to do battle with Grave Ghouls and Alien Abominations.

You know, just another standard night at the LGG table, no big whoop. ;)
