Hi, Picklers,

Just a few notes about next week’s (June 11-16) schedule. Everyone is enjoying the pickleball mixed events. The Friday mixed Shootout at 6pm is almost filled for this week and Marie’s Wednesday night event continues to get rave reviews.

For those of you who like to get a vigorous start to your day and avoid the heat, register for the Monday shootouts at 8am (June 11). Today you should have received an Invite email from Trackit for the Monday Mixed Shootout. If you haven’t registered yet, click the link in the Invite. On the Mixed Shootout screen, click the blue button Click to Submit Registration. That’s it and you are ready to play. You will get a confirmation before the event.

Note:  In the future we will be depending on calendar registration through Trackit over emailing Invites. If enough players register through the calendar, we will not be sending Invites.

If you haven’t used Trackit to register via the Event Calendar, here’s a review:

--Go to Trackit, click Events > Calendar and select the event--Mixed Shootout on Monday, June 11.  The Mixed Shootout screen will display.
--Click the button Click to Submit Registration, and you will be registered for the event.

In addition to the regular week’s events, note that Drills for Skills will be given on Friday, June 15, with Tom Asbel instructing.  Sign up on the Drills Sheet posted on the Lodge bulletin board. Don’t forget the cookout at the Courts on Saturday, June 16, at 5:30pm.

Just an FYI:  Marie has had the lucky shamrock over her head. Timber Pines has had continuous downpours for most of the day on the last two Wednesdays; however, rain magically stopped before 6pm so Marie’s Wednesday night event has been held both weeks!

See you at the courts,
Bev Crane

Good morning, picklers,

Hopefully we’ll have a respite from the rains and can get back to playing regular pickleball.  A couple of changes to the summer schedule have been made to better facilitate play.
--The major change is on Monday morning to the Men’s and Ladies’ Shootouts.  Because of the more limited number of players available in the summer, the Men’s/Ladies’ Shootouts will now be combined into a Mixed Shootout for all levels that will start at 8a - 11a.  This will help to ensure that there will be a full contingent of players on the courts at the same time.  The format is the same:  4 courts with a maximum of 20 players; groups of 4 or 5 players depending on number of registrants. Highest 2 total game wins on each court move up and lowest two move down a court; 5 players on a court play to 9; 4 on court play to 11.
--The other change is to the Friday night Mixed Shootout event at 6pm.

Starting June 1.  instead of level rotation as in Monday Mixed, groups will play only one series of games (3 games with 4 players; 4 games with 5 players). 4-player games will play to 15, 5-player games to 11.
More on TrackitHub Calendar

I’m happy to report that a number of club members are learning Trackit by logging on, viewing specific events on the calendar, and signing up for events like the Friday Mixed Shootout. Especially for the Shootout Events where number of players is limited by the number of courts, it is a good idea to sign up if you plan to play.  You can always cancel via Trackit as well. Also, note that the invite to Friday, June 1 Mixed Shootout was a mistake.  It’s open now for registration.

Note:  Events are open for registration one week before the event and close the day of the event.  The system will not allow sign-ups outside of that time period.

Now’s the time to get familiar with the calendar on Trackit while it’s raining.

Rain, rain, go away--the pickleball courts are open for play!
