Lack of intelligence and ability to grasp concept are what make the right wing echo chamber unevolved, uninformed and uncultured.

As humans, it’s tempting to think of ourselves as the pinnacle of evolutionary progress. But evolution can only work with what’s available, resulting in a body that’s a bundle of compromises. http://pops.ci/1l7JC9x
Here's where our bodies still mess up

It's a win for America, +PoliticusUSA.

The change in the polling isn’t because Republicans have seen the light on the ACA, or that Independents are flocking to the law. The public polling changed because Democrats are finally embracing the ACA. Now that the law has been proven to both work and be popular, many Democrats are jumping on board.

This is the worst possible news for Republicans because they were counting on negativity about Obamacare to keep Democrats away from the polls this November. The success of the ACA appears to be boosting Democratic spirits, and could have voters looking forward to the election this November.

If Jeb Bush decides to run for president, he’ll have to defend his family’s controversial political name.

But more immediate family concerns might keep him from running at all.

Mother Jones:

Ron Paul announced recently that he is giving away a gun because "there can be no liberty without the ability to defend it." As part of its "Defend Liberty Gun Giveaway," one lucky donor to the former Texas congressman's organization, Campaign for Liberty, will receive a DDM4 AR-15. But Paul isn't alone. More than a dozen candidates for national and local office have offered up free firearms to their supporters during the 2014 election cycle, with gifts ranging from pistols to shotguns to an AR-15 customized by the gubernatorial candidate himself. It's the year's hottest conservative campaign gimmick.

+Sabeena LoBello Jack was there, but in permanent nap mode...missed most everything but recess which he thought was his personal social bully hour. After the third retention, the system pass him on and he had no problems with the third grade. Being three years older than your classmates has its advantages. None for the teachers, however.

People like Shaneeka Rainer are often told that they shouldn’t try to get the minimum wage increased because it only really applies to teenagers working entry-level jobs. That indeed may have described Rainer 10 years ago, when he first entered the workforce. But a decade after he got his first job in fast food, Rainer still finds himself working at Arby’s for minimum wage.

In other words, Rainer has worked an entire decade receiving only one raise: when Congress increased the minimum wage in 2007.

15 years and counting, +Tara Harding.

The other day, a woman who grew up in the Loon Star expressed surprise over my marrying a Caucasian and that she couldn't place my "accent" (since I don't speak like a "funny foreigner" who's "destroying her white America").

I told my husband on the phone that I want her to meet him when he comes back to Texas from Indiana next weekend. He told me that I only have a month and a half to put up with people like her before I leave for Indiana.
April has been the start of news that I’ve been expecting for over a decade. Interracial marriages are becoming more accepted, more prolific, and it will literally change the face of America by 2050. We’ll cover that in a subsequent article, but there was some data included in the news article that revealed which states …

A new IPCC report finds that unless the world acts with a sense of urgency to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, global warming is on pace to reach the catastrophic level of 4.8ºC above pre-industrial temperatures by the end of the century.

TPM:

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is throwing down the gauntlet against the National Rifle Association.

In a New York Times story published Tuesday, Bloomberg outlined his plan to spend $50 million -- a figure he threw out "as if he were describing the tip he left on a restaurant check" -- building a new nationwide grassroots movement to curb gun violence. His Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition and the advocacy group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America announced a merger last year, and Bloomberg plans to restructure them under a new umbrella organization, Everytown for Gun Safety.

Rick Scott better bill the vessel's owners for using the Coast Guard and cleanup, and not mooch federal disaster aid like Perry did for the plant explosion in West, Texas.
