Sneaky Pete series order

Amazon issued a series order for _Sneaky Pete._ It was placed on Instant Video on August 7. Co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures TV, the Giovanni Ribisi-starring drama was co-created by Bryan Cranston and David Shore. Ribisi plays a con man who assumes the identity of his former cellmate after leaving prison. Numerous networks and streaming services had expressed interest in the project after CBS passed in May.
The con is on at Amazon. The streaming service has given a series order to Sneaky Pete, a drama from EPs Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and

Lab126 layoffs

Amazon has laid off engineers at its Lab126, which specializes in developing new hardware. The layoffs seem to have stemmed from the failure that was the Amazon Phone. While many of the engineering team had been reassigned last year, some of the remaining engineers have now either been laid off or moved to other projects.
Amazon has laid off "dozens" of engineers who worked on its failed Fire phone as part of a broader curtailment of its hardware development center, Lab126, according to a report in The Wall Street...

This may be important to you later, so I recommend bookmarking it.
When you purchase an Amazon Prime product, you sometimes have the option to use "no rush shipping" and receive a credit towards a music, video, ebook, or game download. The problem is, it is difficult to tell how many credits you have coming to you later.  Now you can. You must be logged into your account before it will work.

Only problem is, you have to download their Amazon App store then the Amazon Video app. That's problematic to me. It should just be an app available in Google play.

I need someone to explain to me how this makes good business sense.

Galaxy Quest revival

Paramount Television will be partnering with Amazon Studios and their streaming service to develop the film Galaxy Quest for a television revival. One of the film’s original writers Robert Gordon will pen the pilot script and executive produce the Galaxy Quest series along with the original director Dean Parisot and producer Mark Johnson. Parisot, a vet of TV series such as “Grace and Frankie” and “Masters of Sex,” will helm the show as well.
The Galaxy Quest crew has found a new home. ...

If you are planning on keeping your Amazon Prime membership, this is a way to get an unlocked smart phone for essentially $31. I may do this just to have a spare phone, in case something happens to mine.
The Amazon Fire Phone has hit a new all-time low price. Amazon is currently offering the phone for just $130 with a full year of Prime included. If you fact

It does much more than that. Once you have set up your Echo, it is your master control .  It has your mailing lists, shopping lists, and other apps. So for example, I can tell Alexa to put apples on my shopping list, and when I'm at the store I can look in the app and and see apples on my list.

I mainly use it for music. I can see what songs are playing on a playlist and I can control the Echo's volume while I'm working at my desk.

If Amazon wanted to, I'm sure they could hook up the Echo to all the electronic devices in their ecosystem.  There's no reason why you couldn't tell Alexa to put something on your shopping list and then have it turn up on your phone or kindle fire or anything else they devise.
