Fundraising for Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion (RBL) are the official charity for war veterans in the UK as well as being the Nation's custodian of Remembrance.  Part of why this operation is being run is to commemorate Remembrance Sunday this year.  It is a particularly poignant anniversary this year because it is 100 years since the outbreak of World War I, and 70 years since the D-Day landings at Normandy in France.

After +Ady Hart originally suggested it, I've set up a Virgin Money Giving page to collect donations from Ingress players of both factions for the RBL.

Please give generously, and if you're eligible, please tick Gift Aid.  It adds 25% to the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourself.
Thank you very much for helping.

Operation Lest We Forget is featured on the ingress report.

Proposal - everyone visit just one war memorial this week and post all the names on this thread. Least We Forget. We Will Remember Them.

Roster Statistics

After the post earlier by +Jonathan Grady , here's the statistics from 313 roster form returns.

The split of respondents was almost even for faction.
47% ENL / 53% RES

The largest group of all are L10.  The large group at L14 follows statistic results from other Ingress surveys online.

Since this was multiple choice, the results don't add up to 100%.  They are however a reflection of the proportion of all participants who undertook operation activities.
17 out of 20 (84%) respondents stated they helped with clearance.
Approximately a quarter (25% or so) said they helped with Intel, Key hacking and Portal preparation.
1 in 5 respondents created one or more links for the operation.

Now the interesting question.
I can make the list of players public viewable.  I haven't done that yet, the only information available is nickname, faction, level and activity in LWF.  Do you think I should make the results spreadsheet viewable or not?  Please +1 the appropriate comment.

Post op comedown

It's been eventful and emotional for a lot of players today.  Against the odds and at great effort for a lot of players, we all completed the field art design!  I hope everyone feels they were able to play a part, and feels proud that they were a part of Ingress history while paying their respects on Remembrance Sunday.

I think this is a good time to remind everyone that there is a roster running of people who participated in the op, no matter how large or small their contribution was.  I ask you to fill it out so that there is an indication of just how many players were involved.

I also would like to remind everyone of the LWF donation page at
It has so far raised over £870 for the Royal British Legion, helping their work with war veterans and their families. It would be great if we could get that over £1000.

As we approach the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, let's take 2 minutes to reflect why we do this.

I'm fortunate to find myself by Caernarfon War Memorial this morning.

+Martin Chalk there are some agents who helped at the last minute (some via comm) who I'd like to give some credit to. Unfortunately the participation sheet took my details, and now says "You've done it already".

xxjaknifexx (res) - blocker clearance (he did make them, but then went out of his way, travelling quite a few miles and undid his own work).
EBlackadder (enl) - blocker clearance. Again went out of his way following a random comm shout.
Cuznatch (res) - supplying many Jarvis for destroying blue blockers. Share the guilt Matt Cuzner !
+Stan Liu  (res IGN to follow) - more Jarvis, and courier of guilt!

Meelzebub (res) - Need I say anything more? Key exchanges, gear exchanges, cake, and just being Melanie! A wheel cannot roll without a good hub.

There are of course others, but they know what they did, and can fill out the form for themselves!
