My plan is to basically build a portfolio, maybe create a company using us and whoever else wants to work together (a few people have contacted me already) and then find clients to work for and get paid. To find clients we can use an agent or agency since this means clients for sure but they take a cut of the profit. We could also attempt to find our own clients and work for full price.

Personally, I have very little professional experience in programming. I am looking to start earning money and I know that developing apps / websites for clients is a great way of doing so. It seems like a lot of people are interested in teaming up and getting paid to work which is a good thing but also a bad thing. Good because more people to work with and faster projects being done, bad because money gets distributed in more fractions.

I was looking for new professionals and students but a lot of people who hit me up have a few years of industry experience, which is fine.

Let's communicate on how to further this money making journey (because this is about the money, not based on moral or friendship grounds)

This is taking a lot more organization than I thought it would. I create discussions on here and on Slack but no one responds and so there is no progression. I will no longer be leading this group. If someone else wants to pick up where I left off, feel free. I will still be open to following a new leader.

Hey guys,

I'm a full-time Android Dev for a small start-up company (Vitalhub) located in Toronto that makes apps for Hospitals.

I just created a Slack group called reddevSlack

https://reddevslack.slack.com

please join this should be our main form of communication from now on

Payment:

I think the simplest way to do pay is to divide it evenly. If there are 8 people working on a project or in the company, everyone would get 1/8 of the total profits.

$5000 project would amount to $625 per person. This seems like not that much but if there are 8 people working on one project we should be able to get it done quick and easily.

I think I am going to start a company tomorrow. Will research more information on how to do that exactly.

In the mean time, any designers interested in creating a logo for us?

"reddev" is just a name i made up while creating this community, just a condensed form of reddit developers. I think it's not bad and can work if it's available but I am also open to suggestions for company names.

Hello! My name is Steven Pasterz, I'm a designer currently freelancing from the San Francisco Bay Area. Most of my design experience has been on the print side but I have been making the transition into interactive design over the past year.

I look forward to working with you all and hope we can create something awesome together.
