Hey campers! I have a question for those of you who operate personal websites or blogs. What kinds of programming languages do you work with? For instance, I run my websites on Bluehost and use PHP as a server-side language. I know PHP isn't as -- er, "popular" as it used to be, but I do find that many affordable hosting options support it. I'm curious to hear what you work with or have access to.

Saying hi!  -

I've been very interested in getting involved in my community lately. My 8th grade year will be ending soon and I haven't made any real impacts on my career! I've done everything in my ability- join EVERY club at school and do sports but what I really want to do is go downtown to Strawberry Square and do theatre! And get into the Science and Technology departments! I fear I'm too late...
Yet today, checking around Google, I came across Google Edu pages and after shuffling through "highschool or college students only" at last I found a program (online) called MAKER CAMP. I'm excited to put my ideas out there! I only wish this was an actual place where I could get away from regular life (although I probably wouldn't have a way to get there anyway, other kids could).
Right now I'm applying to School of the arts, an intensive program for 15 selected students everyday at my district's highschool, substituting 3 hours of my day but it's worth it. I plan to join the visual arts and design department. I have to put together a portfolio and interview first. This may be the only experience being young I'll get as I pursue a career at Disney or Pixar.
Good thing I'm determined.

Check out your local library for Maker spaces and events. Also, approach a teacher about starting a maker club.
