Possible explanation for the phrase "in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die" in Genesis 2:17 and a deduction which approximately tells us when Christ might return

"but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2:17)

The Book of Jubilees, which is apocryphal, gives this explanation:

And at the close of the nineteenth jubilee, in the seventh week in the sixth year thereof, Adam died, and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation, and he was the first to be buried in the earth. And he lacked seventy years of one thousand years; for one thousand years are as one day in the testimony of the heavens and therefore was it written concerning the tree of knowledge: "On the day that ye eat thereof ye will die." For this reason he did not complete the years of this day; for he died during it. (Book of jubilees 4:29-30)

The term "day" mentioned in Genesis 2:17 is not a day of 24 hours, but is equivalent to a time of 1,000 years. Adam died at 930 years as Genesis 5:5 says, that is, on that day which is equivalent to 1,000 years: "Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died." (Genesis 5:5)

"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (2 Peter 3:8)

"Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience." (Hebrews 4:11)
"Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have." (2 Peter 1:10-12)

Through the chronologies and the biblical genealogies, that is, knowing how much time some biblical characters have lived, and the times of some events described in the Bible, many authors have calculated the date of the creation, but obtaining different results. However the date should not be far from 4000 BC.
The date of the beginning of the creation corresponds to the year zero. Note that in order to know when every millennium begins, the following calculation is made: the zero year begins the first millennium, after the first millennium has ended, the second one begins and so on to arrive at the sixth; the seventh millennium will begin after 6,000 years have elapsed. For example, after 6001 years since creation we have already entered the seventh millennium.

The rest of which Hebrews 4:11 speaks has to do with the beginning of paradise on the new earth. As we said before, one day is equivalent to thousand years. God created everything in 6 days and rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2). Note that the 7 days of creation are 24-hour days, since Genesis chapter 1, at the end of each day says: "And there was evening and there was morning." Until the death of Christ, God commanded to follow the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11), which in the Hebrew calendar corresponds to the seventh day of the week. In our calendar the seventh day corresponds to Sunday. What is the purpose of striving in Hebrews 4:11? The purpose is to inherit eternal life as also says 2 Peter 1:10-12, that is, to enter that rest. In Hebrews 4:11, the writer wanted to use the rest of the seventh day of 24 hours that God commanded the Hebrews to observe until the death of Christ, to describe the rest that in Hebrews 4:11 corresponds to the beginning of paradise on the new earth. Now people, so to speak, are working until the end of the sixth day (so up to the sixth millennium), and then will enter the rest of the seventh day (at the beginning of the seventh millennium). This rest will begin after the second coming of Christ, which will begin those thousand years (Revelation 20:4). In fact, the thousand years of Revelation 20:4 give us another indication: they can represent the seventh day, which is equivalent to a thousand years. The thousand years of Revelation chapter 20 have nothing special compared to the time that will pass later. During the thousand years the saved will live on the new earth. After these thousand years there will be the judgment of the unjust and of the fallen angels (Revelation 20:7-15; Isaiah 24:21-22), and the saved will continue to live on the new earth forever (Revelation 22:5).

At the time I'm writing this article is the year 2018. There is a sure thing: if we consider that the seventh millennium begins when the 6000 years are over, then the 4000 BC is to be excluded. The date must necessarily be inferior to 4000 BC.
I want to emphasize one thing: these are not "arrogant" statements, as if they were prophecies. Some, to discredit these reasonings, may mention Matthew 24:36 which states: “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." First of all, Matthew 24:36 speaks of the day and hour of Christ's coming, that God did not want to reveal us, because the Bible does not speak of it; and it does not mean that people, by making certain reasoning, can not formulate hypotheses concerning a period of time in which the second coming of Christ might occur. Mine are only deductions based on the passages of the Bible, and based also on the Book of Jubilees, which might not affirm the truth, since it is apocryphal.
From the verses of the Bible, we know that the antichrist will reign for 7 years, and that the great tribulation will last 3 and a half years, and will begin after 3 and a half years from the beginning of the rise to the power of the antichrist (Daniel 9:27; Revelation 11:2). So, at the time when the antichrist will rise to power, people alive at that time will know that Christ will return after seven years.

"Is not penance in its essence an offering for sin? I do not care who it is who prescribes the penance, nor what it is, whether it is licking the pavement with your tongues, or wearing a hair-shirt, or laying on the whip; if it is supposed that by the mortification of the flesh men can take away my sin, the Scripture is like a two-edged sword to pierce the inmost heart of such teaching. “Where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.” Take off your hair shirt, poor fool! Wash the stones with a dishcloth, and keep your tongue clean. There is no need for these fooleries; Christ has completed the Atonement, you need not suffer thus; you need not, like Luther, go up and down the staircase of Pilate, and think that your poor sore knees will find favor with God. Christ has suffered, God exacts no more! Do not try to supplement His gold with your dross. Do not try to add to His matchless robes the rags of your poor penance. “There is no more sacrifice for sin.”" - C.H. Spurgeon

The word antichrist doesn’t just mean “against Christ“, it means “in place of Christ.”

Pope Boniface VIII said “We declare, assert, define and pronounce to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every creature altogether necessary for salvation… I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all, and above all, so that God Himself and I, the Vicar of Christ, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make of me but God?”

Pope Pius IX said, “I alone… am the successor of the apostles, the vicar of Jesus Christ. I am the way, the truth, and the life…”

Pope Pius X declared, “The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh. Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who is speaking, hence, when anyone speaks of the Pope, it is not necessary to examine but to obey.” (

Pope Pius XII said, “…recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth.”

These blasphemous Papal proclamations oppose what Jesus told us in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Popes proclaimed that all the world should submit to their authority or be killed.

Pope Innocent III  said, “Anyone who attempts to construe a personal view of God which conflicts with (Catholic) church dogma must be burned without pity.”

Pope Gregory IX said, “The lords of the districts shall carefully seek out the ‘heretics’ in dwellings, hovels, and forests, and even their underground retreats shall be entirely wiped out.” –

Pope Leo XIII said, “But the supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff. Union of minds, therefore, requires, together with a perfect accord in the one faith, complete submission and obedience of will to the Church and to the Roman Pontiff, as to God Himself.”

"Many think the Roman Church became tame, but this is not so. The power to execute apostates is enshrined in Canon Law, it has never been replaced. It's much the same as Sharia Law, which is is enforced in nations under Islamic theocracies.

When a nation becomes subservient to the Roman Church then Canon Law is enforced. This is what happened during the Holy Roman Empire.

The Council of Trent pronounced over 130 anathemas to those outside the umbrella of Rome.

Here are a few of the offences that caused untold numbers of innocent Christians to be murdered by Rome

Rejecting the false Roman Bible
"But if any one receive not, as sacred and canonical, the said books entire with all their parts, as they have been used to be read in the Catholic Church, and as they are contained in the old Latin Vulgate edition; and knowingly and deliberately contemn the traditions aforesaid; let him be anathema."

Rejecting salvation by works
"If any one saith, that the justice received is not preserved and also increased before God through good works; but that the said works are merely the fruits and signs of Justification obtained, but not a cause of the increase thereof; let him be anathema."

Rejecting Roman baptism
"If anyone saith, that in the Roman church, which is the mother and mistress of all churches, there is not the true doctrine concerning the sacrament of baptism let him be anathema."

Rejecting the belief that Christ is bodily in the communion bread
"If any one denieth, that, in the sacrament of the most holy Eucharist, are contained truly, really, and substantially, the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ; but saith that He is only therein as in a sign, or in figure, or virtue; let him be anathema."

Rejecting the necessity of confession before a priest
"If any one denieth, either that sacramental confession was instituted, or is necessary to salvation, of divine right; or saith, that the manner of confessing secretly to a priest alone, which the Church hath ever observed from the beginning, and doth observe, is alien from the institution and command of Christ, and is a human invention; let him be anathema."

Rejecting the 'sacrifice' of the Roman Mass
"If any one saith, that the sacrifice of the mass is only a sacrifice of praise and of thanksgiving; or, that it is a bare commemoration of the sacrifice consummated on the cross, but not a propitiatory sacrifice; or, that it profits him only who receives; and that it ought not to be offered for the living and the dead for sins, pains, satisfactions, and other necessities; let him be anathema."

Rejecting the spiritual 'power' and 'authority' of the Roman clergy
"If any one saith, that there is not in the New Testament a visible and external priesthood; or that there is not any power of consecrating and offering the true body and blood of the Lord, and of forgiving and retaining sins; but only an office and bare ministry of preaching the Gospel, or, that those who do not preach are not priests at all; let him be anathema." "Pope Innocent VIII appointed Henry Kramer and James Sprenger to write a comprehensive analysis on witchcraft. This book became the operating manual for the Inquisitions. Its macabre instructions resulted in the death of thousands if not millions of men, women, and children. Simply having a birthmark or a scar would be enough to label one a witch.

Anybody accused of witchcraft was condemned to death. In other words, innocent people accused of black magic would be burned at the stake without evidence. Even more, Bounty Hunters were paid handsomely for each girl they handed over for execution. The convicted witches’ property would be divided by the Church and State. Therefore, the sanctioned mass murder became a very profitable enterprise. And critics of the witch-burnings were punished and in some cases themselves burned.

Priests would use this license-to-kill—to manipulate their confessors for their own benefits, especially for sex. Refusing the Priests demands, would result in being turned over to the Inquisitions to be ruthlessly tormented and sexually violated. Once accused, even devout Catholics that shunned the Dark Arts were doomed. They would be tortured until they confessed to witchcraft or died. It was very dark times in Europe." Jonathan D Hoegle
