How to protect mushrooms

When the mushroom harvest restrictions scratches and bruise for bruise spots or scratches are very susceptible to microbial attack as fast fungal damage.

Once harvested brought in a cool place for sorting and pretreatment.

With oyster mushrooms, mushroom clusters required option, remove the old beams, Crush or deep, maggot. Cut off the mushroom stalks stick sawdust.

With mushrooms, preliminary selection, remove the buds stain fungi, waterlogged, the roots stick to the left in the previous harvest. Cut off the stem stick straw mushroom, earth.

In this stage the reason to remove the damaged portion and dirty (mushroom stalks) is because these parts contain a lot of harmful microorganisms, is the direct cause decay-causing fungi, fungal contains a nutrient quite high, if not remove the damaged parts would organisms multiply rapidly and spread damage lines.

Need to keep the substrate temperature 10-15oC to inhibit fungal respiration and of all microorganisms. After picking mushrooms from bag embryonic tissue or fungal fruiting bodies are still in a state of "living" means fungus still remains respiratory metabolism.

However, in this process of respiration to lose nutrients for fungal ear, loss of moisture and heat creates an opportunity for harmful microorganisms to grow. So we need to lower the ambient temperature in order to limit fungal respiration and growth of micro-organisms to keep mushrooms fresh longer, the refrigerant can be used are air-conditioned (large) or Styrofoam box used to rock at the bottom or top of mushrooms.

Among them Yakotake mushrooms Mycena chlorophos scientific name. Fungi thrive Yakotake early summer to late fall, around May to September each year. During the day, they look like any ordinary mushrooms, but night came, we saw this tiny fungus emits green light beautifully. In light of fungal Yakotake people can read the words on the book. In fact, constantly glowing mushrooms Yakotake within 72 hours after they have fully developed, but this phenomenon can be observed most clearly at night.

As noted by the research community, in the world there are about 40 species of bioluminescent fungi. Hachijo-jima Island recorded 7 species of fungi ownership of this type. Why mushrooms glow? There are theories that mushrooms glow to attract animals active at night helps spore dispersal. But regardless of the reason, the scene is always glowing mushrooms that tourists most want to admire the island of Hachijo-jima when the rainy season.
