Today I'm adding more ELDER surnames to the Scottish DNA project.
Newest kit #344694 is a descendant of "WILLIAM ELDER d. 1714 Maryland." Controversy among ELDER researchers to post orgins as SCOTLAND or ENGLAND.  I'm voting for SCOTLAND, as Host of the ELDER DNA project  at
 http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Elder

I recently did some special SNP tests a YSEQ and tested positive for S27701, MC04, MC05 and MC07. At FTDNA I am Kit 259526 and although my last name for the last 300+ years is Webb, I believe that we descend from a illegitimate son of of a McClellan, around 1657/9  born in or around Coleraine, Ireland. And from my understanding, S27701 is a Scottish SNP,  this strongly supports that we came from Scotland then to Ireland. I also tested positive at FTDNA  for DF41.

Hello! I am a direct descendant of a Scottish prisoner of war from the Battle of Dunbar in 1650. He was exiled to the New World by Cromwell and lived, married, and died in the Concord area of Massachusetts. He now has thousands of American descendants. I discovered my TRUE biological heritage through a DNA test of my grandfather which showed this connection to my immigrant ancestor John Hamilton. I am part of the Scottish DNA Project and I also created a blog/web site for all descendants of the Scottish prisoners of war that were exiled to Massachusetts in 1650 and 1651. Please take a look at: http://scottishprisonersofwar.com/
