Yesterday, we celebrated our annual gaming marathon by introducing several of my players to Mongoose's 2nd Edition Traveller.

In the course of the ten hour session, we created a crew of Travellers and explored one of the most unusual mysteries of the Trojan Reach; the monks of Sink.

For those curious, we streamed the whole event here:

My copy of The Great Rift boxed set came in today, and I recorded a short unboxing video.

At first glance, it seems like a very different product from the Pirates of Drinax boxed set, but still seems full of a lot of great, useful material (including some new material for High Guard, an expanded system for generating star systems, and over 300 pages of new subsectors to explore). Looking forward to diving into the Great Rift to learn more this weekend. :)

First edition softcover and hardcover core rulebooks. I just noticed there was a softcover now for it.

I know I might get shot for this question, but I am curious, other than the roll 2d6 method, what other methods do you use in character creation?

Do any use an assigned array or a point assignment system?

A question for the hivermind: In the near future, I'm thinking about running a one shot Mongoose Traveller (or Classic) adventure for my normally FRPG group. Any low-cost suggestions?

I'm currently running the last flight of the Amuar and its likely they will arrive at Vior this session.

This is an airless rock ball where 30k "natives" live in underground caves. They get a little help from the ISS but generally live as they have done since before being discovered.
I'm juat wondering how did they get there? What do they breathe? Where did their water come from? Not to mention the the supposedly anagathic rodents they eat?
I mean I could default to "The ancients did it" but has anyone got any thoughts?
thanks shay

Hello all!
I'm heading to London and I was wondering where can I find the Mongoose Traveller boxed set.
Any nice rpg shop in the city center?
