Long ago, the goddess at the time awakened to her ambitions and desired to take over the world. The goddess was eventually stopped by four brave heroes from the human world. The heroes took a special road reaching up to Celestia. Defeated, the goddess admitted to the error of her ways and promised to never let it happen again. She separated part her powers away from herself so she could never misuse them again. This lead to the creation of Histoire. Since then, a goddess could not make a change in the human world without her consent.
The heroes predicted that free access to Celestia would spell trouble, so they used their weapons as keys to lock the path. These weapons were given the name of Quartet Arms. The four weapons were then disassembled and scattered across their individual homelands.
During Arfoire's time as goddess, she could no longer handle the pressure and responsibilities of being the only CPU .Together, she and Histoire created four new goddesses, Purple Heart, Black Heart, Green Heart, and White Heart. Passing down her knowledge and some of her personality traits to each of them. Unlike Arfoire, whose power was absolute, each of them only possessed a quarter of the power of a true goddess.

Gamindustri is composed of four nations, each under the rule of a goddess (CPU) who protects the land with energy derived from their faith. However, since a syndicate that worships the criminal deity Arfoire counted an all-out assault on Gamindustri, every nation has been put in grave danger. They currently struggle to survive this mayhem, even while protected by their guardian dieties.
It is said that Gamindustri was here from 0. After the introduction of 1, the world grew bi-dimensional and eventually transitioned into tri-dimensional existence. Time passed until it finally transcended the concept of numerical dimensions and evolved into a hyperdimension. Due to this change, remnants of creatures and vestiges of places from bygone eras can still be found.
