Android Wear Basic Notification Cheat Sheet 0.1

I was spending a few hours to understand how Android Wear Notifications work, what elements they consist of, and how they relate to normal Android Notifications. This is something that should be fairly straight forward, but it was a bit tricky finding the information. So, I decided I'd share my findings with you. Behold, the Android Wear Basic Notification Cheat Sheet 0.1. It is very basic, but having something like this would have helped me, and I am hoping it will help you too!

Hi there. I am landing in Lausanne for a 14 month master's program in sport administration. I would like to open up a discussion on how Google Glass apps can help sport (thinking of fan engagement at mega events, athlete development through simulation, integrating sport into academia, and any other ideas that may come up). Let me know what you think and how you would like me to take this discussion forward. Cheers.

About this community

Hibernation over! New event coming up. Join us!

When developing our own small side projects or parts of larger projects at work, we've all encountered similar issues with development, so why not make use of our awesome community and talk about it! :)

This event is about sharing experiences and meeting like minded people. It is less formal than our other events, in that the idea here is that anyone can present their android projects and have open discussions about them.

If you would like to present your own project, please contact us and let us know. No project or idea is too small to be presented.

This Android Meet & Share is sponsored by ti&m AG.

The meetup is limited to 20 people. To attend please get your ticket here:

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Google Glass to borrow for a day for making a movie?

My name is Irina and I am a CS PhD student at University of Zurich. Does any of you know how I could get a Google glass for a movie project for a day? I am a Google Anita Borg 2014 scholar and, as part of my Outreach Program for Women in Computer Science, I am currently involved in making a movie to encourage high-school girls to study CS. This is a collaboration between me (as the owner of the script and main character of the movie :)) and the media department of the University of Zurich. The main goal of the movie is to promote Computer Science as a field of study, convey the idea that studying Computer Science is an amazing path, with great impact on both society and self, thus encouraging high-school students to choose CS. Therefore, I was thinking that some images including people using technology in every day life would perfectly fit, and the current ideas would be kids playing with smart toys, adults navigating home with their smartphones, old people being supported by smart tech. In addition, I would love to have the Google glass included as a gadget of every day life, if this is possible. The video is meant to be shown on the main university website, promoted at university fairs and in high-schools. Therefore, I am reaching out to you to ask if anybody knows how I could get a Google glass for just a day of shooting the video. Or, maybe you know somebody who could help me borrow it? I would need it on a day in December or January. Naturally, I will take great care of it and use it only for the purpose of the video. I do hope we can make this work, since I think it is that kind of piece of tech with great visual impact in such a movie. So, if you have any ideas how I could possibly borrow it, please get back to me: todoran@ifi.uzh.ch

Thanks a lot,
Irina
