Recently DroneApps Forum met in Switzerland. Of items that were discussed the need for autonomous obstacle avoidance for both straight winged and multi-copter configurations. Once this is ironed out you can expect to see a lot more drones out in the wild, from inspection tasks to drone delivery.

So, recently I've been working to get my robot to follow things, so far I've got it following faces and a tennis ball. I'll work on getting a demo up.

Just finished watching the DARPA Robotics Challenge 2015. Good showing by all the robots, and especially the champion Team Kaist with their robot HUBO. Using a solid design, good plan, and excellent execution the robot was able to push through the information exchange degradation and complete tasks such as drilling out holes, and navigating rough terrain successfully.
