Aware of Embedded Java ?

The growth of Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the nature of the devices which are attached and their data into an object oriented paradigm. This has opened up an avenue for a software system namely embedded Java to be the natural means of control, development and interaction. Embedded sensors, NFC (near-field communication) payment, and image recognition technologies are key IoT elements that are embedded in mobile devices.

Thanks to social media and sensors being embedded in objects as part of the Internet of Things, the amount of data being collected is growing rapidly. But how will this transform our understanding of cities?

One person who’s investigating ways we can make sense of this information is Andrew Hudson-Smith. Graham Southorn asks him how we can make cities truly smart.

Oracle recently released Java Embedded 8u71. That's great. Back in 8u51, they had an (experimental) AppCDS feature (that worked great) that is not in the latest update. It wasn't un 8u65 either. I was hoping it just skipped a version, but it looks like the are not including it, and there is no mention of it anywhere about their plans...at least that I can find.

Does anyone know anything about this? Anybody from Oracle folloing this community?
