DALYAN TURTLE BEACH TRIP FROM MARMARIS, ICMELER AND TURUNC BY BOAT

Dalyan Turtle Beach combines all in one-boat trip-sun-sand-nature-history-health and adventure togather. Comparing with the rest of the boat trips this one is more adventures and exiting.

The boat is massive, double even three decker. On the last deck are enough sun launchers for everyone. And downstairs is all you need for a comfortable journey. Chairs, tables, toilets, bar, airconditioning, play ground for kids and music system.

Departure from Marmaris is 09:30 in the mornong and it takes about 2 hours to reach Turtle Beach and the delta of Dalyan river. İf you are lucky it is very possible to see dolphins on the way.

Fallows the transfer to small boats because the delta is shallow. This is how we reach Dalyan Turtle Beach,

The beach is a narrow spit of land, which forms a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of the Dalyan river and the Mediterenian. It is one of the main breeding grounds for Loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) in the Mediterranean and is therefore often referred to as “Turtle Beach”.

Above the river’s sheer cliffs are the weathered façades of Lycian tombs cut from rock, circa 400 BC. The ruins of the ancient trading city of Kaunos are a short boat trip across the river. The journey will take about 45 min’s through the green channels like labyrint called African Queen passages. This is where the movie African Queen was filmed in early 50’s. Sailing through the channels will give you the feeling of being in adventure with İndiana Johns. Dont worry about the croks, our team have killed them all.

The story of King Kaunos and his twin sister Byblis

According to mythology Kaunos was founded by King Kaunos, son of the Carian King Miletus and Kyane, and grandson of Apollo. Kaunos had a twin sister by the name of Byblis who developed a deep, unsisterly love for him. When she wrote her brother a love letter, telling him about her feelings, he decided to flee with some of his followers to settle elsewhere. His twin sister became mad with sorrow, started looking for him and tried to commit suicide. Mythology says that the Calbys river emerged from her tears.

Iztuzu Beach known as Dalyan Turtle Beach

The south of Dalyan on the Mediterranean coast, lies (Iztuzu) Dalyan Turtle Beach, near the village of the same name is a popular area for sunbathing and swimming. There are regular boat and minibus services to the beach. Visitors should be aware of the wooden stakes in the beach to mark nesting sites. The road route is particularly scenic, offering views of Sülüngür Lake. In 2008 İztuzu Beach was proclaimed winner in the category Best Open Space (Europe) by The Times because of the eco-friendly exploitation of the beach. In 2011 Dalyan and İztuzu Beach were proclaimed Best Beach Destination of Europe by Dutch holiday assessment website Zoover.

The beach is well known for the Caretta caretta (Loggerhead sea turtle), an endangered species that has existed for about 45 million years. International animal protection organizations monitor and protect the turtles’ nesting grounds in Turkey. The beach is closed between 20.00 and 8:00 hours during the period that the turtles lay their eggs and hatchlings go out to sea (May to October).

TURKISH BATH IS AVAILABLE FROM MARMARIS, ICMELER AND TURUNC RESORTS

Turkish Bath, what we call Hamam spread its roots all the way back in time of Ottoman Empire. While France was improving their perfume factory to smell good Ottomans prefered to get cleaned for that reason.

Turkish bath starts with relaxation in a room (known as the warm room) sauna ,that is heated by a continuous flow of hot, dry air, allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an even hotter room (known as the hot room) before they wash in cold water. After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.

The Ottomans in particular became prolific patrons of baths, building a number of ambitious structures, particular in Constantinople after it became their capital in 1453. The monumental baths designed by Renaissance Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan (1489–1588), such as the stand-alone 1584 “Çemberlitaş Hamamı”, the bath in the complex of the 1558 Süleymaniye Mosque (both in Constantinople) and the bath of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne were particularly influential.

The turkish bath usually has a large dome decorated with small glass windows that create a half-light; it also contains a large marble stone called (tummy stone) at the center that the customers lie on, and niches with fountains in the corners. This room is for soaking up steam and getting scrub massages. The warm room is used for washing up with soap and water and the soğukluk is to relax, dress up, have a refreshing drink, sometimes tea, and, where available, a nap in a private cubicle after the massage.

The hamam, like its precursors, is not exclusive to men.Turkish bath complexes usually contain separate quarters for men and women; or males and females are admitted at separate times. Because they were social centers as well as baths, hamams became numerous during the time of the Ottoman Empire and were built in almost every Ottoman city.

Today everyone has a shower at home which is necessery in our daily life. But it still doesnt replace our traditional Turkish Bath.Because as a difference to a normal shower, which only wash your sweat ,Turkish Bath is combined of three prosedures, which clean you as baby bums.

1-Sauna– we go in a room covered with spesial wood producing very refreshing aroma while your enjoying the steam inside.Body start sweating and throwing all uselles toxins out of the skin through the spores on the surface.

2-Scrub-After the sauna we move to another room covered with marreble which we call Hamam.İn the middle is a raund big marble stone used to lay on and get relaxed.İts underheated and deffinitely helps to ease your musseles. So this is when a staff called(tellak) gently scrub your body(exfoliating) and take all the dead skin off of very surface.İts prooved that helps for getting better sunten.

3-Soap-Very spesial method to cover all your body with soap that helps the last peace of dead skin split away.

NOTE: – Oil massage- or aroma therapy is normally not a part of the Turkish Bath. But for commersial reasons you will always see is recommended at the end.
