[What is street photography?]
Street photography captures people and places within the public domain. More specifically, street photography is defined as “un-posed, un-staged photography which captures, explores or questions contemporary society and the relationships between individuals and their surroundings.”
[What kind of photos should I post in this community?]
As street photography enthusiasts we are looking to see and critique work that captures moments with strong composition and aesthetics. This means sharing photos that have a human element within environment that you are in. Photos should be ones that you've taken yourself. If you are posting a link or an image please credit the original creator.
*** [Which posts will be removed?]
Although we encourage everyone to share their work we also want to make sure people are putting some thoughts, feelings and creativity into what they are posting. The following types of photos will be removed from the community:
*Vulnerable homeless (without context)
*General cityscape photos
*Random "tourist" photos
*Street murals, signs and wall art (without context)
*Black and White photos with selective color
*HDR Photos *no exceptions
*Family vacation photos

...and other photos which we consider inappropriate WILL BE REMOVED by the moderators.
*Gifs and other animations.
-->>>>PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE PHRASE "STREET PHOTOGRAPHY" SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LITERALLY AND NOT EVERYTHING YOU CAPTURE ON THE STREET, INCLUDING THE STREET ITSELF, DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL BE CONSIDERED AS "STREET PHOTOGRAPHY" CONTENT IN THIS COMMUNITY<<<<--
And keep in mind that you're fully responsible for the photos you shared.
