n+1... for free!

Someone I know has just bought themselves a new ebike, and gave me this one. Now I'm impatient to get it up and running and give it a test ride 😁

My road bike’s done 17,000 km in the last 4 years. It’s a nice, light aluminium frame. Like Trigger’s broom I’ve replaced the wheels twice, the drivetrain once and the saddle but it’s the original frame, handlebars and brakes.

I’m tempted to upgrade to a steel frame... but I’d definitely keep the original seat post, handlebars and brakes.

I’m just not sure how the old frame would take to becoming a trainer bike...

+James Lee I replaced my rear gear cable today on my Planet X, internally routed. I remember you having trouble before with your Planet X frame. It took sewing cotton and a hoover, not your usual bike maintenance tools, bags of patience and the help of a beagle! Ok, the beagle was no help. Anyway, tied the cotton to the end of the cable, fed it thru the top of the downtube and held the hoover pipe over the guide at the bottom bracket area, wiggled the cable a bit until the hoover sucked the cotton out. Same at the derallieur end of the chainstay 👍 All done
