I can't boot into recovery (LG G2 - VS980).

Hey everyone, so I goofed by trying to update TWRP from 2.8.4.0 by using the "Official TWRP" app which had me update to 2.8.7.0. Well, I don't know if it's because it pointed to a version that I later found out isn't even available (I could only fin 2.8.6.0) or the fact that my bootloader was locked but I do know the common denominator is that I'm a big dummy for even trying it. Anyways, I'm running AICP ROM 12.1 and I can't boot into recovery anymore (I get the secure boot error) but I am able to boot the phone up and use it.

I do have a TWRP recovery backup (it's a couple of months old) but I'm unable to get into recovery to restore it. Is there an option to do this via fastboot? I'm running into another issue there also. I'm using Windows 10 and I'm able to see the phone via ADB but when I reboot into bootloader I keep getting the USB error and fastboot won't see it anymore. I've tried multiple USB drivers with no luck so I'm at a loss as to what to do next. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, but if I have to go the nuclear option and reload stock to start from scratch, please point me in the right direction for the latest and greatest guide (there are way too many out there).

Thanks for your time and before anyone says it... yes, I'm an idiot for not doing it manually.

I'm not very experienced with FlashFire but I think you can restore the TWRP backup. On the official website there is a guide.(https://flashfire.chainfire.eu/actions/backup/). You could also try to flash the recovery again.

Hello. Whenever upgrading CyanogenMod 14.1 I get the error: "E: Unknown command [log]".
Does anyone know how to fix this?
(I have a Samsung Galaxy S5)

E : unknown comman [log] can be ignored by the user... it is a log entry that theflashable zip file produces. This is a new log command that TWRP doesnt understand yet... but it is only a logging entry for devs and its not from interest for normal users

[URGENT] [HELP]

Everyone, good afternoon. I have a Moto Maxx rooted with MM and the day before yesterday I installed the official TWRP app (believing it to be safer than the one I used with JMZ). I installed the latest version and everything properly and it all worked well. Until today.

I use the Nova launcher and I edited the name of the app in the drawer from "Official TWRP App" to "TWRP" and then suddenly my Maxx rebooted and went directly to the TWRP blue home screen.

I tried restarting, turning it off and on again, bootloader etc but nothing works: it always goes back to the TWRP home screen instead of booting the Android OS.

At this point I'm backing up my data files through the app (while charging it) and I would like to know from you guys how I can resolve this in the best possible way?

Can I reinstall TWRP via USB, does it return to normal?
If i factory reset, does it back to normal?
Is it possible to change the name of the app through its own file manager?
If so, how do I do this?
Is there another option available?

Thank you.

+Ethan Yonker if possible, can there be some kind of verification added to the TWRP app that flashing was successful? Even an indication that its done would be nice.

Also, I have the app installed, but when in recovery, I get prompted to install the app. Just an FYI
