Prana, the vital energy. Thus it is understood that the vital energy resides in the vital point, that means prana reside in Marma and we should take due care of it. Otherwise the whole equillibrium get collapsed

Agni one of the big domain in ayurveda, which is hard to manage if any malfunction occurs. It is the most supreme. If agni is not working or stop the working then the whole system of life also get stopped..

AYURVEDA - THE SMART STRATEGIES OF COOKING

Ayurveda gives much importance to food and food habits. The wholsome and unwholsome food, according to the body type , season, diseased state, and more . It explains about the method of cooking and its types also.

The eight types of cooking

1. Bharjanam / Bhrastra – saute (stir frying)
2. .Talanam – deep frying
3. Svedah/ kukula – steaming
4. karpara - making a batter and cooking on a pan (eg; pan cake, chappathi)
5.pacanam – cooking
6. kvathanam – liquid extraction (eg: broth, stock )
7. Tanduram / angara - ember cooking, roasting on burning coal, barbeque
8. putapaka / kandu – cooking with a wrapper around the food, baking

Due to its great significance, the food has attained the highest position of 'Brahaman' in this universe. Hence, before taking the food, for the betterment of life, it should be worshipped in its full religious and ethical discipline. Acharya Charaka has been given much detail of these principles (C.Su.-8/20). These religious practices increase devotion towards diet and have good impact on the mind and body.


Ayurveda gives emphasis to prakriti or body constitution in consideration of food intake. 

Three basic doshas-Vata, Pitta and Kapha form seven types of prakriti. 

In this world each person is a unique being of unique heredity, unique environment, unique biochemical structure and unique mental status. 

For this reason all the natural and good food items can’t be effective with all the individuals to the same extent. Every individual should take a diet suitable to his predominant constitutional doshas, to balance them in different seasons.
