Shared with love (and because I'm almost positive I'm not qualified for the position) ;)

But who better to act on this FAST than one from the Dojo?

Full disclosure: I'm sharing this to SEO Pros as well. =D

I was writing a status update and it kinda ran on... to almost the blog post level lol. Anyway, I just want to put it in here because it's worth archiving...

It's more than just a job; the human factor

I was thinking this morning that it's often not just about paying the bills and feeding my family. Sure, that's part of why I get up everyday, but for me there's far more too it.

I spent many years specifically doing forensic SEO, day in and day out (dealing with sites that have lost traffic/revenues due to penalties or other reasons). It's not an easy job. Nobody is ever happy to see you. I deal with the stories from small business owners that are losing their life savings (and more). And the corporates that getting trampled by competitors.

Regardless of the situation, there are people involved. From a SMBs lost dream, to people getting laid off at the corporation/enterprise. I try my best to not take it personally, but you can't really. But that's what makes you effective I believe.

Obviously the same goes for managing marketing campaigns, it's just highlighted more in the forensic world.

I currently am working on a forensic gig and when I asked why they'd started the business and what it meant to them, I could feel their emotions swell as they talked about buying their mom a home back when things were good, which is now at risk. That pain I feel motivates me to be the best I can for them.

There's the industry angle... they've been through 4 other SEOs trying to get this fixed and were getting very disillusioned with the industry I love. This, also motivates me. As it should when providing a monthly campaign service as well.

It’s never really about the money, there's always a human factor folks...

Something to consider...

Quick Wins - what's your start up strategy?

Just curious... was doing my usual thing with client in-take on a new project. Looking at some areas for quick wins etc.. I figured it'd make a good convo. Where do U like to look first for some quick wins coming in the door?
