In some cities, the rent for a three-bedroom house with a kitchen was 12 shillings ($65) a week, and general expenses (not including food and rent) were about 14 shillings ($75) per week.
According to the New South Wales Industrial Court, the "living wage" for a family of four was 48 shillings ($232) a week.

Hello to my community.

I know it's been a year since I was here last but I'm very excited to announce that I'm having a 10-year retrospective exhibition of my photographic work, launching on Tuesday 21st February 2017 and showing to the public until Sunday 5th March 2017.

"Colours of Our Community" by photographer +Markham Lane celebrates the diversity and equality movement of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Intersex community in Sydney.

This is a 2017 +Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival Premiere Event. And I couldn't be more thrilled to share the collection with you.
