Okay, I'm going out on a limb here, but I think it will ultimately help everyone on here who's a musician.
What do all of us want anyway? We want to be noticed. We want to sell records. We want to be hired for gigs, or have our music used for Film, TV, or even commercials. We want to hear our songs on the radio. Is this group actually helping any of the musicians do that? I'm not sure. Maybe... but so far, for me, it hasn't been helpful. (Sorry)
In this day and age of technology, everyone's online. Everyone goes to iTunes, Spinner, Deezer, Spotify, and other sites to listen to music, but they only get to listen to POPULAR music. How do we become popular? How did the other groups do it?
Word of mouth is good, but it will only get you as far. I think the best way is for us to help each other through networking. I've done this with another group and guess what - my band has climbed the charts at Reverbnation. We can help each other. We may not be able to buy each other's records (because some of us are trying to earn money that way), but we can do something for them at no extra cost. Just a little time and effort.
We can like their Facebook Fanpage - the more likes, the more people reached. And, in return, they will like ours. So, this was my idea, let me start:
Here's our FB page:https://www.facebook.com/MangofireMusic
NOTE: Use a personal account to like fanpages. Fanpage likes don't count.
We are also on Reverbnation:http://www.reverbnation.com/MangofireMusic
If you fan us at Reverbnation, we will fan you back. Increases your ranking, I think.
We also have Soundcloud, just in case you'd also like to follow:https://soundcloud.com/mango-fire
My personal twitter account is:https://twitter.com/JrzyDy
The band's Official Twitter account:https://twitter.com/WeAreMangofire
