The Google I/O Extended 2015 event is tomorrow!

It's a great chance to see live-streaming of some of the Google I/O events. Along with the chance to watch along with other like-minded techies, there will be lots of refreshments and swag. Everyone who attends will receive a t-shirt or Google cardboard (possibly both) and a chance to win an ADT-1 Developer Kit and other cool prizes.

Last minute walk-ins are welcome, but it will help with food planning to have a rough count of attendees. If you haven't done so, please RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/Tampa-Bay-Android-Developers-Group/events/222520680/.

I'm an in-house designer for a multi-platform app, and I really struggle with understanding Android size buckets and how to provide the right assets for our devs - and I've had a surprisingly hard time finding understandable resources to help! Anyone have resources or tips for designing for Android? :)

I recommend everyone sign-up with Udacity and watch the videos for the Developing Android Apps course. While formal enrollment is expensive, you can watch all the videos for free.

I've switched to Android Studio for new projects, but still prefer Eclipse. Perhaps over time, and as improvements continue to be made to AS, that will change. The better I learn how Gradle works, the more I can see its superiority over the old build system.

It's been awhile since I've last posted some #AndroidDev  tips. This time, I've written an article about getting started with AndroidAnnotations and building a very simple Chuck Norris facts app.

If you haven't heard of AndroidAnnotations before... it's basically using simple Java annotations (like `@Background`) to save you from writing a lot of boilerplate code. Files are much shorter and cleaner too.

ps - And the best part is that I finally got code snippets to look good in Blogger. ;)
AndroidAnnotations is an open source framework for Android. Basically, you provide Java annotations for things, and the framework will auto-generate the necessary boilerplate code so you don't have to write it yourself. Runs ...

Hi everyone. Just randomly found this group after doing a Google search. I looked at the site, but don't see any meetups in the near future. Is anyone going to ShadoCon?
