Seems like c chinese manufacturer offered a cheaper solution for recording from WiiU/Xbox 360/Xbox One/PS3/PS4 - Ezcap HDMI Recorder http://amzn.to/1JXKeJC

It allows to record 1920x1080 (30p) videos via HDMI or YPbPr component input. It features HDMI pass-through. The device doesn't support HDCP, but you can always record HD videos from your Playstation 3 and 4 via component YPbPr cable.

Ezcap HDMI Recorder is a standalone recorder. You don't need any computers to record gameplays or HDTV with it. You only need a USB flash drive or USB hard drive formatted to FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS.

The recording is splitted onto 2GB files.

Ezcap HDMI Recorder can't record audio from mic input, if you record from HDMI.

Ezcap HDMI Recorder can't playback the recorded videos, but you can do it using your computer or a mobile device (make sure the latter allows external storages to be connected via USB).

Currently Ezcap HDMI Recorder doesn't have any reviews on Amazon, but there are several devices with the same box sold on Amazon, including the following ones:

(•) Sourcingbay DVR-EC010 HDMI Game Capture 1080P HD Video Recorder Box for Xbox 360, Xbox One http://amzn.to/1LRsVxr

(•) AGPtek 1080P HDMI One Click Recorder For Xbox 360 & One PS3 PS4 HD Video Game Capture http://amzn.to/1UzJJLy
