After nearly 5 years, this community's time has come to an end due to the excessive spam that is plaguing all public communities on Google+. I'm not deleting the community as a lot of us put our hearts and souls into it and there's a lot of history and useful information here that many of you will want to look back at. I am simply setting the community so that no new posts can be made. In case Google decides at some point to delete the community for us, please be sure to bookmark your favorite patterns and our pattern history document, which lives outside of G+. And hey, maybe someday Google will get it together and enable us to re-open the community without forcing me to spend an hour or more each day dealing with spammers. Find the old pinned post with all the community information at https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AnnG27/posts/dgjQasxqoDw

If you've been an active participant here (that means not just posting and running, but making meaningful comments on other people's posts, joining in on CALs, and I probably know your name without looking you up), you are welcome to join our new private community. It's not as structured. We won't be doing monthly CALs. We'll be chatting about crochet, sharing whatever we're working on, and only if there'a a pattern that strikes several of us will we decide to do a CAL. Find us at https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/114980939517802207010

It's our last CAL, so I figured I'd better get in on it! I'm using up some Comfy Sport that's been in my stash forever in perfect spring colors for this flower bag. I haven't decided on handles yet. I like the idea of cotton webbing handles, but hate sewing! :-D

Finished one of the place mats last night. They look pretty good. If you are making them remember there is a mistake in row 4. a and in the edging for the A. side of the mat. other wise once you learn the interlocking crochet stitch it is pretty easy. Just watch a video to learn the stitch it is a lot easier to understand the concept of the stitch.

Our May Flowers winner by a hair is the Flower Tote by Asami Togashi. Thank you for voting!

Find all the details at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flower-tote-5

This pattern is designed in sport weight (#2 or Fine for US folks, 5-ply for UK folks) cotton/linen, but as gauge isn't vital in a bag, you can feel free to use whatever weight yarn you have on hand.

As always, feel free to make your project your own by using different yarn, different colors, or just using the pattern as inspiration to do your own thing. Please post here with any questions, tips, and of course photos of your project in progress and completed. If you also post your projects on Ravelry, please tag them googlecal so we can find each other's work there. I look forward to seeing your creations!

Hi! I am excited to see all of the projects. I am from Port Orange, Florida and love to crochet. My skills are coming along. I can do a lot of the basic stuff. Some of the stuff, on the site, just blows me away. Thanks for the add and hoping you have a wonderful day. God bless all of you.

With April well under way, it's time to choose our May pattern. Does anyone have any pattern requests? Please post a link to the pattern you'd like the group to make in May in the comments on this post with a few words about why you think it would be a great CAL.

This is not an invitation for designer's to advertise. Pattern inks without comments and links to paid or stolen patterns will be deleted.
