Takes Two To Tango, 2018

The might Saguaro Cactus blooming. Air pollution is taking it's toll on the Saguaro. The modern desert cities have not really bought into mass transit. Phoenix does have limited light rail, limited being the key word. This winter is setting up to be one of the busiest in memory, cars..cars..etc. We need more light rails, less buses and at the very least more carpooling. The airports are very busy. Many airlines are / have added flights to California for the commuters traveling to jobs in Frisco, LA, San Diego and other parts of the California. And I'm not picking on California, Chicago is in the mix as are other Midwest and Eastern Hubs. Family and cars stay here. Our desert environment is extremely fragile; however, we do have a check to balance growth..water. Phoenix and other cities in the southwest have been working on the drought plan. Although Phoenix is ahead of the curve on this, one thing should not be forgotten. Even without the drought, we have a limited water supply. I suspect water rationing (which is being whispered about) will not go over very well in Arizona, especially if the major reason is over-growth. Too many developments...

This is Pass Mountain at Usery Mountain Regional Park.

That light band after the slope up and under the darker top is the aftermath if a series of volcanic eruptions 25 million years ago. It's a large layer of mostly quartz.

This side of the mountain faces west so I think it would be a great shot with the sunset light.
