South Africa's credit rating has been cut to junk status by the ratings agency S&P Global. The agency said that political upheaval, including the recent sacking of finance minister Pravin Gordhan, was endangering the economy.
S&P also expressed concern over government debt, and in particular the expense of supporting the state energy firm Eskom.

Durban, South Africa will not host Commonwealth Games in 2022. David Grevemberg, chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation, said the city did not meet the criteria set by his organization.
Durban was awarded the Games in September 2015 and was due to be the first African city to host the event, which was first held in 1930.
Last month, South Africa's sports minister Fikile Mbalula indicated Durban may not be able to host the 2022 event because of financial constraints.

The family’s vehicles in question have licence plates numbered NX 1, NX 7, and NX 57.

They're all part of the Indigo Skate Camp, a movement that looks to nurture sustainable skateboarding environments for rural and vulnerable youths, and Andile Msomi is one of them.
