Also likely of interest to your group's members, the latest in my long series of roundups of textmode art renditions of video game artwork.

Video game textmode art part 20: old (old!) ANSI art
True to form, no sooner to I get a foot-dragging not-ANSI-art post out the door then another ANSI feature tries to shoulder its way through before the thing even has a chance to close again. Has it really been six months? The sad part is that this isn't e...

While we were never at par with ACiD back in the day and today the gulf between us and Blocktronics is even greater, we are nonetheless one of the very few organizations actively seeking out ANSI art in the 21st century.  If you would benefit from an outlet to a wider audience, we would love to be that conduit. (+Luke Volk , are you listening? 8)

Greetings, all!  This is your six-month advance notice that I am seeking submissions of "computer art" (let's be honest, all art is computer art in 2016) for an artpack collection to be released at the end of October 2016.  Click the link for details!

+Darryl Perry Don't sweat it, you have lots of time.  I'm about to post the six-months'-warning call for submissions, hopefully on the 15th... and would be thrilled to dip into your back catalogue for our eventual release scheduled for mid-October.  (I may be in possession of some unreleased historical fragments, if you'd have any interest in trying your hand at ANSI collaboration across time 8)

If you like, you can see last year's artpack at pc.textmod.es/pack/mist1015/ ... textmode art is thin on the ground, but it's an important part of our historical background and so we do like to ensure it gets representation.

If you ever wanted to contribute textmode art to an artpack, this may be your chance: until October 15, Mistigris is seeking submissions!  (Not exclusively textmode, read on for many, many alternatives.)
MISTIGRIS 2015: WE WANT YOUR ART(to be submitted to us pro bono for free digital circulation because that’s how we rolled when we were kids in the ‘90s with no bills to pay and this particular...

and even the curated Bloom County ANSI art gallery I put together last winter. (These are all just side excursions from my primary campaign of documenting textmode art made of video game characters 8)
In 2015, after bumbling around in a retirement exile of irrelevance for decades, we saw a return to the limelight. No, I'm not talking about ANSI art, but rather Berke Breathed's comic strip Bloom County -- which began way ba...

Hey artists!
What sort of editor are you using to create ANSI graphics in this day and age? Is it TheDraw or ACiDDraw in Dosbox or do you use a Linux equivalent or a browserbased editor such as the one on 16 colors http://draw.sixteencolors.net/ ?
Create and edit ANSI and ASCII art in your browser!

PabloDraw is the industry standard. Mistigris introduced it back in the early '90s and it's the only textmode art tool with classic roots still being kept current for modern systems.
