Overflowing

Earlier this year we had a lot of rain, and most creeks burst their banks and water flowed everywhere.

Windswept Coastline

Rough seas, gusty winds makes for an interesting time photgraphing the cliffs near Kurnell, Sydney Australia.

Photography tip for high wind conditions, spread the legs of your tripod wider to get the camera lower to the ground and to give a wider base of support which reduces movement of the camera and also reduces the likelihood of the wind blowing your camera over.

Millaa Millaa

Falls I didn't like the initial edit I made of these falls, and tried again.

The Millaa Millaa Falls is a plunge waterfall located in the Far North region of Queensland, Australia. The falls are adjacent to the town of Millaa Millaa on the Atherton Tableland.

'Millaa Millaa' is a MaMu Aboriginal phrase referring to the rainforest vine Elaeagnus Triflora whose fruit appears from May to February. The falls are 18.3 metres high with a pool suitable for swimming at their base.

A long exposure of a slipway at Kianinny Boat Ramp near Tathra on the south coast of NSW.

Kianinny Slipway I
--
First of all happy new year to all and I hope you are having a good one so far.
--
I just recently come back from a family holiday on the NSW South Coast (aka the Sapphire Coast). Our main stay was at Tathra and this is a image from the local boat ramp at Kianinny Bay. This old slip way is just beside it along with another one.
--
I decided to create a long exposure due to the swimmers, boats and snorklers in my viewfinder. I think I did well removing the people in the scene.

Technical:

The wet season seems to have arrived and all the creeks and rivers are pumping, this shot of Majuba Creek was taken between tropical downpours yesterday.

Another shot from the airbnb at Butterfly Valley I stayed at last week outside Cardwell; as you may have assumed from the rope swing, this is one of the main swimming holes on Five Mile Creek

I have been working in Cardwell for the last couple of weeks, I soon got over staying in the middle of town and found a nice airbnb online at Five Mile Creek, which is suprisingly about five miles out of town. It was nice to knock off work on a hot day and go sit in this creek running behind my cabin...
