Why should you treat every expense as a piece of your life? Because it is!

Every time you spend money 💰 you are trading your life for whatever it is that dollar is buying.

How? Because you gave up a piece of your life to earn it.

So from now on you owe it to yourself to be careful and cautious of how you spend your money.

The quality of your life depends upon it. ✌🏽

There are only two ways to live within your means -- either spend less or make more money.

If it is impossible to cut your spending any further, or you just don't want to sacrifice anymore—create a new source of money.

Pay Yourself First!

BEFORE you do anything with your paycheck, consider prioritizing how you're going to spend your money. 💰

The FIRST bill at the TOP of your list to be paid is to YOU!

Yes, this means before paying bills, buying groceries or spending it on anything, set aside a portion of your income to go towards building you a savings account.

Do this until you reach your desired amount for emergencies (usually 6-12 months).

Once you have enough in savings, allocate the money toward your retirement (i.e., 401(k) or Roth IRA).

This will be challenging for the first few months but once you develop this habit you will find that you have improved your overall financial outlook.

And incidentally you're on your way to creating financial wealth!

I know this may seem impossible- especially if you're living paycheck-to-paycheck, but it IS possible!

Start small if you have to: $10, $20 or even $5 - it will all add up over time.

I use my 10*10*10 approach:

Every pay period I allocate: 💰 10% towards savings - (I've recently had to withdraw from it so now I'm rebuilding it.)

💰 10% towards my retirement -
(You can never have too much here.)

💰 10% towards tithing -
(Give back! Even if it's to your favorite charity.)

You are important and you are worth it!

If you don't believe you are worth it, how do you think you can convince anyone else that you are?

I know you're worth it even if you don't so....

Pay yourself first!

What Does Forgiveness Have to Do With Money? Everything!!

It's time to let go of old beliefs about money and choose what new beliefs you want to bring forward with you into the future.

Forgive:

“That slight misdeed of yesterday,
why should it mar today?

The thing he said, the thing you did, have long since passed away;

For yesterday was but a trial;
today you will succeed,
And from mistakes of yesterday
will come some noble deed.

Forgive yourself for thoughtlessness,
do not condemn the past;
For it is gone with its mistakes;
their mem’ry cannot last;

Forget the failures and misdeed,
from such experience rise,
Why should you let your head be bowed?
Lift up your heart and eyes!”

Adopt a Financial Mantra

Pick out a positive phrase that acts like a mini rule of thumb for how you spend.

For example, ask yourself, “Is this [fill in purchase here] better than Hawaii next year?” or “I only charge items that are over $50.”

Dream BIG but realize that you to have to learn before you earn!

Take chances and risks but be open to failures and mistakes - it's all apart of the process.

The journey is just as important as the destination. It's where the growth occurs.
