Hey Bc,
I have collected most of the students work in and those that wanted to have share some of what they learn't with the class yesterday.
Apologies for not being able to touch base this week I have been sick and am leaving this afternoon to go overseas for the holidays.
would it suit if I mark from my perspective and then hand on work to you.
I will fwd all the electronic presentations to you today as well so you have the links.
The students have self-assessed and then you and I can assess our parts and decide on an overall grade. I cannot fault the students effort and application to the tasks, it has been great - many of them do still have a wee way to go with their writing and ability to put research into their own words and select the correct graph and explain what it shows.

This is the link to the graphing website that I have shown them. There are lots of these kinds of sites but this one is relatively simple to use.

The Gapminder site is great in general but this particular interactive chart is great for comparing and getting a feel for the story of a population as a whole. It is totally interactive. Hover over bits and use the buttons around, it can do quite a bit

This site gives some good statistics on a huge variety of aspects of a country but conveniently has a 'Compare XXXXX to ' option at top right.
