Some news to share - I have accepted a position with the San Francisco Unified School District office of technology. I start there in July. So I won't be a co-leader of this GEG anymore. I appreciate the connections I have made through it.

In the meantime, enjoy this video I made about two awesome #GoogleChrome extensions for productivity and students with learning needs: Extensity and Infinity New Tab.

In case you missed it, the Google CS First Team has developed a entire free technology curriculum which uses instructional videos and creative projects to teach 7th-12th grade students digital skills, such as Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) while practicing life skills like budgeting, researching, and collaboration.

Through our projects students learn career readiness, 21st century skills and digital literacy. You can learn more at g.co/letscreate. There are currently over 5,700 students using our content.

If you would like to get on board with the GET cohort that is helping on the initial rollout, you can join the GET CS Community here: https://goo.gl/0Mz3jo

Stumbled into the Google Certified Educator training and have made it my project this summer. I teach 6th grade ELA at a K-6 elementary school.

Hey everyone, I am a high school English teacher, looking to incorporate better uses of technology into my classes. Although my school isn't quite 1:1, our students have consistent access to Chromebooks. I have decided to become Google Certified and discovered GEG NC through the training!

Hey all. I am an art teacher in both an elementary and high school setting. I love technology and art integration. My high school just went 1:1 with chromebooks from a Golden leaf grant. I decided to become Google Certified. I look forward to learning from  everyone in my newest PLN!

Good evening everyone. I am in NJ, but I have a friend, in Winston Salem,  who is totally new to the Google/Chrome world. She just messaged and asked if there are any trainings in NC in the next month or two. Her school wants to send teachers out for training. Anyone know of any happening in your state?

I was proposing to my district to set up a cohort of teachers interested in getting their Level 1 certification and do a weekly or bi-weekly get-together to discuss each topic and walk through the training. Has anyone done this or have any suggestions? While I feel they could all do it individually, I was hoping that a support group would help motivate and keep everyone on tasks. Any thoughts or suggestions?
